So, again, just confirm to everyone that it's perfectly fine to slaughter 10,000+ innocent women and children because "Israel has no choice".
One of the most well defended places on earth (when they bother to watch their fences) with enough artillery to wipe out the entire Gaza Strip - has to do this in the name of self-defence.
If you want to go on believing that, fine.
You seem totally oblivious to the conditions you've forced them to live in which created the monster that is Hamas - as if they just popped up out of nowhere all of a sudden, just like that. Hamas is a reflection of what happens to a people when you turn the screws and apply pressure. What part of this have you failed to grasp?
But while Hamas is truly a monster - what does that make Israel?
But let's be frank here - the tragedy is that most Israelis were about kick their leader out of office for multiple charges of corruption just a year ago. You have the most historically (extreme) right-wing racist government you've ever had in power right now.
But that's okay, they're good guys underneath, right? Of course we can trust them to make this right.
100 years of history - 100 years of war and fighting. 100 years of dead bodies piling up.
The only time this will ever end is when they agree to live together in peace. In order to do that, Israel has to stop taking every possible scrap of land and prove to the rest of the world that they're not trying to wipe the Palestinians out of existence. I mean, that would probably be a good start.
But 100 years later - this is where we're at.
I'd love to know what exactly has been successful about the whole Israel project? Hold on! They invented Pegasus, the finest tool to spy on your neighbour ever created, and then quickly sold it to the most corrupt governments all over the world so they could arrest and kill their political opponents. Okay, okay, but what other great things has Israel given us over the last 100 years?
There is also the much bigger question of what happens after? It will be hard for just about any Jewish person to stand up and say "hey, we were oppressed and massacred during WW2, show us some sympathy" - when they're doing exactly the same thing the Nazis did to them. Clearly the old adage "two wrongs don't make a right" flew past the Israeli cabinet and disappeared straight out the window. The Israeli population will be viewed very differently by the rest of the world when the dust eventually settles here. Just think about that for a moment.
Israel may well control Western media at this point - but people aren't stupid. Israel will forever be associated with the mass-slaughter of thousands of innocent women and children - and no amount of media reporting or news stories will undo this. Remember, the current Israeli government won't be too bothered about the long-term implications here - they'll be long gone and retired in a few years from now. It will be the next generation that will have to pick up the pieces of this mess.
Now all we need to do is make sure they've got enough nukes to blow up the Arab world and we're all set towards that slippery slope that is WW3 or, perhaps more accurately, the end of all humanity as we know it "in the name of god".
Nice god.
