That being said, Oliver brought absolutely nothing new to the conversation at all. He took the standard acceptable position. All of his videos are made to be viral/shareable. Americans love him because his accent conveys such authority and thoughtfulness -- that mixed with dry witty humor -- he is the spiritual successor to John Stewart and has been ever since he left the Daily Show.

So honestly it is silly to make a comparison between the videos... both are equally off putting for completely different reasons.



I've already made multiple detailed responses to the claim that the Hamas/Gaza Health Ministry death count numbers have been verified. I doubt you read them. Just like I told the other guy-- if you actually give a shit you can go back through this thread and find it. I'm not wasting my time repeating myself anymore when all you do is type 10 second thoughtless responses.

I did read them and they weren't actual rebuttals. It doesn't matter if Hamas deaths are being counted with civilian just due to the sheer number of civilian casualties. The Hamas casualty numbers are a drop in the ocean
 
In my opinion the only way Israelis and Palestinians can live together is if they go the 1 state solution under Communism like the PFLP wants. You can't have equality under capitalism despite what the liberals think

as I just said in my last post, if you want the evidence...if YOU give a shit... it's right here in this thread. I've been going around in circles for 137 pages restating arguments and evidence. Go back to the last time you asked me, and it's within 5 pages of that. Or better yet, just search for the evidence yourself. the videos are all over twitter.

I'm being intentionally deceptive? That's an absurd claim. I'm simply pointing out the overall likelihood of Hamas members being killed in a bombing vs civilians based on percentage of the population. If you have a more rigorous method I'm all ears but I definitely am incredibly skeptical of any claim that Israel makes due to their track record and current holders of office. It isn't my fault you ignore the statements of their government

40 journalists too, on top of all the previous ones. You gave no better source of determining the death count and you continue to ignore the time piece where they had a list of names and identification numbers.

I don't know how far you've gone in math courses but I suspect you need to do some catching up on probabilities because the math doesn't work out for even a 50% majority of the Palestinian deaths to be Hamas members. Even if less than 1 million people were in the north of gaza the odds still don't work out even though Israel hasn't only been no bing the north. Over 6000 bombs dropped and you think most aren't civilians? You need to check yourself is my opinion

The young lefty kids chanting these Free Palestine slogans apparently don't realize that if they moved to any Muslim country probably 90% of them would be persecuted or fucking executed. Arabs don't like Americans or any western countries. They don't like white people, or black people, or Asian people. These countries do not subscribe to their political ideas or embrace diversity. There are exactly zero left wing Muslim countries, they are all very right wing.

Islam is not a religion of peace, of the 3 Abrahamic religions it is the most hateful and violent. It is written in the Quran that non-Muslims are inferior, sinful, and should be duly executed... simply because they don't believe in Islam.

None of that is a reason to cheer on Israel killing civilians, but the point is these kids have no idea what they are cheering for anyways, and their ignorance leads to violence against Jews of their own making.

It is quite braindead indeed. I've always seen the oddity in the situation of Muslims yelling islamophobia while living in western countries, but they themselves are some of the most homophobic, transphobic, christophobic, xenophobic people in the world...

OK not unlike you to take a chance to hate on Israel, but you have to understand the history behind this to put it in proper context.

At first all Israel did in Palestine was agriculture. They didn't want shit from the Palestinians. They just wanted to survive.
But fields were burned down, villages raided, women raped, kids taken away, lots and lots of people killed.
That's when the US started funding Israel, and Russia started funding Palestine, and the two had another one of their classic dick measuring contests, which - surprise surprise, the US won.

Both sides had terrible things happen to them, and both sides DID terrible things.
And both sides really TRIED to find consensus, but they were sabotaged over and over again.

You cannot just put it in this one-sided context and be done with it, especially as a German.
I agree with you that the state of Apartheid in Palestine is terrible, but this is a complex situation

The Palestinians assaulted the Israelis for decades too, when it all started.
Yes, Israel has gone MUCH too far, but you got all this history of their people, now being encircled by countries that literally want to wipe them out and wanted to since they got there, having to share the country with someone who wants to wipe them out. They thought they'd have another 12th century Jerusalem, where Muslims, Jews and Christians could all co-exist, they got the exact opposite

The situation now is a result of complex history, and cannot be summarised as "boo jews!", especially not by a German, bissl mehr Anstand
Israel has become numb to what they are doing, but none of this was ever without reason.

Where did you pull that 70% number out of btw? While yes it is true that Palestine straps bombs onto kids and sends them to their deaths, which makes them highly noble in your eyes apparently, it's certainly not 70% - that number is ridiculous
