This question isn't about t1D or being immunocompromised by they are very relevant factors.

I was cleaning out the freezer maybe 5 hours ago and scraped a good few layers of skin off my knuckle (one closest to the palm). Thought nothing of it, it's hardly a painful or grievous injury.
However, within maybe 30 minutes, I noticed the area around the actual injury was hot and red and the pain gradually started to seem way out of proportion to the minor injury.
Since then the wound seems deeper and is much larger and the hot redness is spreading through my hand. The initial wound area is a grey-black colour now and no longer hurts at all. The rest of my hand kinda hurts, though and maybe this part is just in my mind but I feel under the weather, like fluey. My arm aches and I've gone pale and tired.

I'm probably paranoid, but does it sound like I could have some sort of serious soft-tissue infection like Necrotizing Fasciitis or Gas Gangrene? 5 hours seems like an EXTREMELY short time-frame for the initially very minor injury to worsen to such an extent and with my starting to feel generally unwell, too.

Not sure what to say other than get yo ass to a (decent) doctor and let them suss this out.
There is no online option to reach a plausible answer for this issue, IMO.

Pretty much the true answer I didn't want lol. I should see a doctor but I'm so tired. Like I just went to my bedroom to get some morphine and nearly fainted on the stairs. Like, I'm exhausted to the point I'd rather just self-amputate the hand in manner of Jigsaw trap or similar than get to a hospital. OH, I'll ring the non-emergency number and consult over the phone [it's that or hospital as it's 6:30pm here so regular doctors are all closed until Monday morning]. I got Shingles last summer and they were able to diagnose it and prescribe anti-virals by having me text them pictures of the rash.

Are you eating and getting enough water?

I haven't eaten today but I have had two (very) large latte's made with whole milk (according to my doctor, milk counts as food...whole milk is actually the only food that has a nutritionally perfect fat/carb/protein ratio).
Definitely drinking enough. I've only been up about 7 hours and (besides the two latte's that were probably both about a pint* of milk each) I've had half a gallon of water (maybe a little more..and a UK half-gallon, which is about 30% more than a US one) and 3 cans of Coke Zero.

*also UK pints which are a little over 20oz I think

get to doctor! diabetes and flesh wounds are serious, and freezers contain some nasty bacteria that can get out as things thaw as you clean it.

That is a very excellent point, cdin. I actually cleaned out freezer yesterday (thanks for reminding me, CE ;) ) and I always use vinegar and water or 50% ISO alcohol after thaw and wipe/dry. There is always the possibility of some serious bacteria growth that could put you at a greater risk. Please see a doctor, bruh.
How is that going so far? Have ya been putting anything on it like antibiotic ointment or anything?
