So who decides what a slur is? Whether you think it's silly or not, there is a huge segment of the population that takes offense to being referred to as "cis". Same with "queer".
A trans person says don't refer to me as a "he"/"she". If everyone doesn't abide by their demands, they're a victim of hate speech.
A person who isn't trans says don't refer to me as "cis"/"cisgender"/"queer" etc. Yet individuals like
@nepalnt21 continue to do so with impunity, and we aren't allowed to complain.
Queer was universally recognized as a slur for decades, but now in the past 5-10 years a small percentage of "non-binary" and trans people have decided that's not how it is anymore. Now I have to hear it everywhere every fucking day even on the local news and shit. Especially during this god forsaken month.
How is that fair
