Multiple public and private hospitals told the Financial Times that the drug, the only foreign Covid medication approved for use in China, was either out of stock or only available to patients with severe underlying health conditions.

Paxlovid is generally prescribed to treat mild to moderate Covid cases.

Doctors said that officials and business owners had snapped up significant stocks of the pills at exorbitant prices to protect their elderly parents, family or friends. The scramble for Paxlovid was emblematic of the country’s health inequalities, said analysts.

“Access to Paxlovid shouldn’t be determined by people’s power or wealth,” said Jin Dongyan, a virologist at the University of Hong Kong. “This is a life-saving drug and should be made available to anyone who needs it.”

China is struggling with its worst outbreak of coronavirus after abruptly abandoning its strategy of harsh lockdowns, quarantines and mass testing. Chinese officials have estimated that 250mn people were infected within 20 days as the virus spread through its biggest population areas, including Beijing, Shanghai and southern Guangdong province.

But authorities have been slow in making Paxlovid available to citizens. Beijing has also not approved any foreign Covid vaccines using advanced messenger RNA technology, leaving its population reliant on less effective domestic jabs.

I think that's what Biden took then he got the rebound symptoms.

I've got something terrible right now that isnt Covid or strep. Feels like Satan pissed down my throat. Just a bad cold I guess idk.

I think everyone has got or is catching that cold. Me and Mum had it a couple weeks ago, she's still got it now, it passed quickly for me. We did quite a few LFT tests (since we have a stockpile of around 500 at home pmsl) but never came up positive.

i think some people are literally addicted to covid. a bit like how a lot of scientist's research seems to problematize things purely as a means to an end - ie the problem justifies the research which justifies the problem, which justifies more research and so on, without ever really questioning its broader relevance or value to mankind. it just pays the wages :rolleyes:

like, I feel just as bad now with this "cold" as I did when I had "covid".

funny how another Covid scare is happening now that the World Cup and the holidays are over. It was spend spend spend , travel as much as you like the past few months.

i know. i think the less people read, see or hear of the news, the better tbh. i used to say that cynically, but i generally really do mean it nowadays. there's basically nothing of value to see most days that isn't a pointlessly over-wrought scare story or Murdoch's histrionic gibberings spouted thru his various journalist puppets.

Starting on January 5th the U.S. will require negative covid tests for people coming from China

Not me. But then again I'm unjabbed, eat a healthy diet, exercise, don't drink or otherwise hinder my body, and refuse to believe in my susceptibility to illness generally. Still haven't been ill once since this pandemic began lol.

All these 'cases' in China mean absolutely nothing. I honestly can't believe that anyone at this point hasn't figured it out, but unfortunately a lot of people still seem to buy into the dark arts of pharma magic. They can literally set an arbitrary definition and 'test' for it, and no one bats a fucking eye or even bothers to ask whether it is legitimate or not. You could get positive results by using fruit juices for gods sake, school kids were doing it. My friend is a teacher and the kids just plain admitted it (fair play to them).

The Chinese are under enormous stress and fear from the state. They live in a bubble of continuous and horrendous air pollution. Many people are poor as well and don't eat and live particularly healthy. It's no wonder so many people start feeling ill, but that has absolutely nothing to do with a virus.. it's their bodies reacting to a shit situation. Like battery hens in farms that all get sick and die.. it's not 'bird flu'.. it's environmental stress and living in fucking filth!
 
Covid is real i believe.probably artificial virus.man made.idk is that thing is loosen from some lab intentionally or not.A lot of people died from it around me.Got this at least two times.as to vacines-pfizer was mine,not moderna.three shots.may be it protect from covid,but mess up my natural immune response.see this in my wife too.Not good decision for me personally this jabs.....but it's all over now.There is somethin new comin' from China....may be rumors,may be not.Time will tell......Time alone🎵🎶

No, it's really not.

The fundamental foundation on which this all rests is the viral isolation. Every single one of the original teams who performed it openly concede they did not produce purified samples of the virus. The actual science required to make the claim that there is a virus (and therefore can even cause illness) has not been performed.

All that happened was they took samples from the original patient, performed their bullshit cell culture methodology which creates a genetic soup of dead cells (which will always die in such a false environment), and then run that nonsense through their computerized sequencing apparatus to find what they expect to see. They didn't even bother to purify their samples prior to visual imaging, which says it all - we get a bunch of nice looking CGI though, so it must be real right ¬_¬

The testing itself is absolute nonsense. You can fudge the lateral flows with fruit juice, and the PCR is a method for amplifying genetic material and not a test in itself.. which of course they were running well above legitimate cycle thresholds.

It's bullshit. All of it. What kind of pandemic requires such authoritarian measures, constant propaganda and censorship? A fake pandemic. That's what.

i picked up a cold on Friday - but pretty mild and i only felt a little tired for a day which was Christmas eve - mostly all nasal - it seemed like it wanted to become a cough but it didn't get a hold - it didn't last too long and now i just have remnants of my nose recovering with the bright green nasal discharge so probably a slight nasal infection - but i feel great now otherwise

everywhere i was going, people were hacking up a lung so i wasn't surprised

i do wonder if you vaccinated guys are getting it worse where this was mild and standard on my end
