Staff Feedback Kratom forum??

This is I think an idea that's been passed around before. We definitely have a lot of kratom talk in OD and BDD, and I believe have kratom prefixes.

That said, right now it seems like they're trying to consolidate the forum instead of adding more forums. I could be wrong though!

fair trade is the main offense. Their vendors pay $4 per kilo. They havent filed taxes in 3 years, they are pure profit. Mac Haddow made over 200,000 last year. They refuse to be honest about the opioid pharmacology of kratom and want it considered a "food". Comparing it to coffee and calling it non-addictive? Thats an absolute breach of harm reduction. When you befriend the farmers and see the industry first hand and then attend a lavish AKA summit, its disgusting
 
That makes sense. I had no idea! I’m a big fan of kratom, as I feel like it’s helped me get (and stay) sober from more hardcore drugs, as well as assisting with my chronic pain, depression and anxiety. I also participate in several kratom subreddits and I’ve read up about it extensively. Big fan of kratom, but I agree that labeling it a “food” and denying its potential for addiction goes against harm reduction. One should definitely be clear-eyed about what they are getting into when they consume this substance; it’s one of the safer drugs, but still a drug.

AKA, they use fear mongering. Use the typical media style frightening message which I always hated when news people did that. I think they do good work and have come a long way from having kratom banned in the US. But what pisses me off is I make a donation, the next day another email, "crisis", "danger" etc...

I still encourage donations to the AKA though. The OMG news style is what irritates me.

I won't take away how much they have done. Other than maybe some small town is states like Alabama or Texas they did a good job implementing awareness and got some legislation through that further protects kratom in the US and also parts of Indonesia. That is big when it almost got banned in 2016.-.

You don't even see the stuff in the news anymore. 10-15 years ago a media scare story was coming out every week it seemed. But I think it died down as no one is really dropping dead because of it. If anything it may have helped some heavy hitters get well.

My stance is if you don't need kratom then don't take it. It can be a step down from opiate naive people not expecting any form or withdrawal. It is the type of tool where if it is a step up for a person then utlilizing it would be smart. If someone is naive from any opioid type drug, no matter how mild, it still becomes a step down unless it is used for certain pain. I personally think 10 gr of kratom and 600 mgs of ibuprofen is stronger than say 10 -15 mgs of oxycodone.

But if anyone has more gossip about the AKA I am all ears. :) My worthless opinion is the other drugs forum seems to be a decent home. Also I notice thekratomforum shut down. I was a member there since 2006. Little fact, the owner of Speciosa Specialists was annoying me in 2006 and at that point the kratom forum was a yahoo group. So then after created his own forum and handed it off. He never posted much on the yahoo one. I felt like the owner was pimping my patriotism. (you who are hard working Americans deserve,....blah blah blah")

I do have some very decent vendors the last few years. I stay pretty loyal.

I was a member of thekratomforum! I didn’t realize it had shut down, I was on there forever. I really like r/KratomKorner on Reddit; sooo much better than r/kratom, which SUUUUCKS. Don’t go there. There’s also a bunch of lesser-known kratom subreddits that ain’t bad either
 
I don’t fuck with US Kratom vendors at all. I personally know many of them. As in I have met them and seen their facilities. Sheisty, the lot of them. Vendor shopping is also very silly. They are all supplied by the same big players. Direct from Indo for me until the possible BLN ban in 2024. I did hop off Kratom a couple weeks ago though indefinitely. After 2 years of chronic use, it turned on me. But with this ridiculous wealth of Kratom knowledge it’s like I feel a duty to spread correct information on it. It’s a cool plant that needs to be respected…and understood.

no I don't take opioids. Unfortunately here in the UK Kratom was semi-banned a few years ago so we now only have a choice of one vendor, although they have a number of different strains. Last night I took 9 grams of Sumatra Red. Is that a reasonable dose, or too much? One vendor? Love to know...

Hasanyone discovered if it's mitragynine, 7-hydroxymitragynine or a mixture of the two that produces the MOR agonist activity. The 7-OH certainly overlays MPPP very well and it's increased LogP should see it produce a fair amount of MOR activity. Why no ester? Because then the LogP would be >5,5 and thus the compound would be inactive.

But it's what parts of 6-HM are key that is important. It's a fascinating compound, it's just a pity that so little seems to be known about it's chemistry. Last time I read, only a Chinese team were really working on it.

same compound but with an OH group and a stereoisomer on the 6 member ring. What make the LogP go up? the hydroxyl group?
 
Is "6HM" 7-OH-Mitragynine or some other chemical? Reference unclear. Is the post some kind of puzzle or test?

Btw my opinion is that a megathread is enough.

I would also like to excuse me, about saying that I would like to be interested in being a mod in this or that, in the recent past, and later not engage in the real chances
specially to @Nurse Ratched that gave me the advice on how to....
I was too busy at that moment, now I'm really able to do it.

We probably won't give kratom it's own sub forum. We have a few mega threads on it and the threads we get in Other Drugs and Basic Drugs are good for now.

BUT...........since you brought modding back up which other sub forum would you be interested in ? I know I tried to get you into CEP / Dive but it wasn't the right time for you as your life was pretty busy.
