Sex + Drugs Zero Sex Drive

I'm no stranger to how opiates kill the sex drive and being single I was ok with that.
But I got back in contact with my high school sweetheart and I want to eventually have sex. But I'm on hydromorphine and no sex drive at all.

At my old clinic I remember guys getting a testosterone shot for that purpose but what is there for women?

Anything that helps?
 
Even for men, you can't exactly go to the doctor claiming to have a low sex drive and be given testosterone. It's not that simple. (at least in my experience)

I once had a female doctor laugh at me for even asking that question.

Men have boner pills like viagra, but not sure.

honestly stims are the only thing I can think of, and that's not exactly the best advice at all

- What’s your kinkiest, “dirtiest” fantasy? That’s for your partner to know, not us if you don’t want to reveal it (who does?). Can your new partner make that fantasy happen?

- Vibrators, sex toys and lotions to wonders for a woman’s libido.

- As for stimulants? Your better off with a man who’s on them, that way he can have stamina and focus on your body for hours. At the very least make sure he’s not watching porn so he keep chasing you for his sexual high.
 
I’ve been taking fairly high doses of Oxycodone daily for several years now. I do notice that I’m not as likely to think about sex as I was prior to being on opiates.

I don’t seem to have any troubles when I’m really turned on by a person. I get very wet and very into my current partner, and our sex life is very satisfying to me.

I find it’s more of a mental thing; my mind thinks about him or things we do together and I get turned on, despite the opiates. I think if you find someone you’re really into, you may rediscover your sex drive.
 
Oh, there's also lubricants that increase sensitivity, that give a sensation of heat / tingling. Applying those before you're even turned on or doing anything sexy can really get you physically in the mood.

If you wanna go down the medication route, there's flibanserin, which is a pill you can take daily, or bremelanotide, an injection you give yourself some time before you're planning to have sex.

They're specifically for women. With men you mostly treat a mechanical issue, ie erectile problems. Usually the desire is there, the body just won't respond. So viagra increases the blood flow down there. With women usually the problem is just not 'getting in the mood'. These two meds work by increasing the level of certain neurotransmitters in the brain. They're often marketed as 'female viagra' but aren't really anything like it in terms of action.

I wonder if you have to ask your doctor for a script or you have to pick these up on the internet…
 
Yeah, flibanserin came to my mind as well. I'm a guy with very low libido ever since I became addicted to morphine but the effects didn't reverse upon cessation of use. So I'd be interested in trying this drug as well, dopaminergics do work as a brief contact with prolintane (des-betaketon-alpha-PVP) showed me. I think flibanserin is weaker than full stimulants as it shares its mechanism of action with mirtazapine which isn't the strongest drug out there (somehow I can take 3 pills and feel no difference at all; fluoxetine which also is a 5ht2c antagonist did induce some, albeit weak, stimulation at doses higher than 20mg).

I've encountered bremelatonide on nootropic shops but had no idea it was used to increase libido.

Wonder whether opiates do suppress female hormones in a similar way as they do with testosterone, or if it is another mechanism at work here.

But it shouldn't be too hard to get a script for flibanserin at least for you as a woman, it's the indication of this drug.

But by which mechanism, is it the same in both genders? I'm no expert about hormones, but think to know that women have some testosterone and men some estradiol as well but in much lower concentrations. Is testosterone in women required for libido?

All women have some testosterone in their system, which does to some extent affect sexual desire, but the main sex hormone is estrogen, and certain circulating levels are required for sexual function both physically and mentally (hence increased difficulties following menopause, which causes estrogen depletion).

Also for some weird reason different opiates seem to have different effects in that regard. Some studies have been done which suggest little change on codeine or morphine, but a noticeable impact on tramadol or fentanyl.

As a male, opiates always give me a bit of priapism. Not the dangerous kind that goes on for 4 hours, but the kind where it just pops up on it's own, rock hard, with no thought about sex or any stimulation. Especially during the acute effects but some times on the latter end as well. I read once that there's a specific reason why opioids do this to males.


So opiates give me wood, but I have no interest in it.
Where as stims make me horny as fuck but then I can't get hard.
This is the real cruelty of the hard drug world.


Unfortunately I don't have any great advice for OP, but at least being female, you can fake it til you make it I suppose. :p
 
Phenibut might be of assistance. Gabapentanoids make me horny as hell. GHB too. of course have to be dosed safely alongside the opioids

Has happened to me on occasion, but by no means routinely. Once or twice had the urgent need to jerk off immediately following the administration of the injection, no idea wtf went on with my body / biochemistry there.

I think the point is she wants to find a way to actually bloody enjoy it.
