Not bad actually. It has an earthy/nutty flavour someone reminiscent of a mushroom brew but far more palatable.

Top tip: never add milk and/or sugar because that makes it taste of arse!

For my first few attempts I just bought random packets of Papaver somniferum from garden centres but the results were disappointing - probably had the morphine bred out of them.

Then my Dad gave me a small bag of seeds from the poppies in his garden (strain unknown) and they worked, so I've been collecting the seeds every year. I've now got a 2L jar full to the brim.

Unfortunately, we're moving house later this month so I'll have to start all over again :\

Been meaning to get some CBD, from a local outlet, to see if it changes the high of almost total THC weed (which can set off anxiety, with a big dose).
Apparently, the hash coming from Morocco now, is from skunk, grown in the hills. Explains why it seems silly strong, these days.

Years ago, I made opium from collected seed pods that were wild Paperver somniferum. Actually turned it into laudanum, by dissolving it in brandy. It lasted ages, in a big brown bottle, in the medicine drawer, most probably becausd it tasted fucking horrible. You had to be in a lot of pain to swallow it, but it was very potent.
Of course, some of the opium ended up being hotknifed. Would do that, then slide down the wall and be delighted for 2 hours by the sound of the wind, outside!

The Kif mountains are truly amazing one massive valley about 20miles long and a mile or so across with just weed growing - Use to buy the hash from small farms- Im surprised they have changed the strain as they use to have a v high pollen count,

Hens and Chicks variety are meant to be good because apparently they are meant to have a decent to strong alkaloid content. Hopefully this won't be bred out of them by the seed sellers.

They seem to need a fair bit of effort though in terms of feeding them and giving them sufficient light, if you want to get a decent size and amount of pods according to some You Tube vids i watched.

@F.U.B.A.R. I don't understand what you mean by having to 'start over' when you move, and in an earlier post when you referred to your pods doing better once they had become established.

As they are annuals don't you have to start afresh every year anyway? I don't get how they can become any more established.

I went to pick up some stuff yesterday from the Olio app & I had to go onto a local sink estate, it's pure Council housing & I swear it's like an episode of Shameless. One genius family were sitting on the front of their garden at 9pm & the whole street stunk of weed & they had a fire going!!!!

YES sitting around a fire at that time like it wasn't hot enough, I think the weed they were smoking had made them go insane. I can understand people with their window open may not want to smell that stink tbh BUT it's no reason to go calling the Cops on people.
 
Changey, what are you doing to yourself? This isn't healthy. Please, seek medicsl attention. You could do yourself real harm this way. :(
