We all know who Putin is, but Zelensky/ Ukr govmt is not better at all.
He is Smart, tho. He saw a problem coming from all that nazis he had in the army. What did he do, then? He left them to fight in Mariupol, a city where a hugh part of population is Russia friendly, a city surrounded by Crimea and Dombass, basically a lost city.
Now, what did he got?
1- Azov and other nazi groups are very brave soldiers. They have killed a lot of russians and kept the russian arrmy busy for months.
2- they lot have been killed or made prisoners by the russians. So they are not nazis anymore, they are heros now. Brilliant.
I have not doubts about who is the agressor here, Russia is.
But pretending that NATO moving east further and further has nothing to do whit the current situation is just plain stupid.
Psychology is key into international affairs:
russians are proud people, as proud as US citizens. They can very well remember the shame of Yeltsin. They remember, just after they defeat in Cold War, fucking Gorvachev doing tv comercials for Pizza Hut, for fuck sake.... can you even imagine american people having to see Nixon or Ford advising on their tvs some kind of viet rice brand, just after their defeat in Vietnam??

Putin is guilty of invading Ukraine, but just weeks before he asked for them not to join NATO. I know Ukraine is a sovereign country to do wathever they want. As sovereign as Cuba was when they wanted to hold russians nukes in the Island, and kennedy didn't allow that to happen, WWIII was closer than ever, but no one called Kennedy a new Hitler.
