A TV crew in Chicago was caught completely off guard when a man walked into the back of a reporter’s live shot and pointed what appeared to be a gun at the cameraperson.
Fox 32, an affiliate of the network based in Chicago, reported that the man walked into the shot and held what looked to be a pistol behind reporter Joanie Lum’s view while she delivered a segment about the city’s rising gun violence problem.
The shocking incident occurred while Ms Lum was reporting about the Midwest city’s growing gun violence problem, an issue that Americans across the country would be able to identify with particularly as the nation was left reeling from two deadly mass shootings in just the past two weeks.

What I don't get is why the police barely acted in this latest shooting. Wouldn't enter the school to confront the gunman, wouldn't let parents run in to save their children, and the guy was already opening fire before he entered the school and the police failed to take him down in a shootout. Wtf?
The school was surrounded by police while the gunman was actively killing children, but nobody could go in or out.
Not sure why anybody is talking about gun control when it seems to me that this is a total failure of the police. Officers should be willing to put their lives on the line to save children otherwise they are totally pointless.

See my post above. Many of these shooters are encouraged to commit attacks because they serve a political purpose.
The psychos that want to bans guns have no qualms about murdering children to achieve their goals.
I was wondering about that. I just have a hard time believing that they would stand by and watch innocent children to be brutally murdered in front of them to serve of a political purpose. I'm jaded but not that jaded. There must be more to the story. Maybe the police department has a risk policy that does not require their officers to throw themselves into imminent danger of certain types, I don't know.
They could've easily stormed that school with a SWAT team and suffered minimal/no police casualties. The gunman was wearing armor and was already identified beforehand. It's not like this was a hostage situation where careful negotiations were needed. The guy was already killing people. All bets are off.
This seems like amateur hour or bad policy.

The agendas are likely comparmentalized. So for eg. the police chief knows what's going on and then instructs officers not to engage in an active shooter situation until SWAT arrives (which can take over an hour in some places). So the cops just do what their told (and there's some kind of justification for their policies) but if you go far enough up the chain of command then that's where the agendas are controlled.
For an example of compartmentalized agendas, read the deathbed confession of an ex-NYPD cop who explained how the FBI helped murder Malcolm X.
Then where does it go. As others have stated it’s not the guns. They do provide a weapon capable of killing allot of people quickly buy someone with no skills or training, but the underlying reasons won’t be solved by trying to remove the guns..

If a weapon is dangerous enough for trained cops to not enter the building (presumably out of fear) during an active school shooting, maybe society would be better off without that weapon being easily accessible
