i think his argument is that it's harder to kill as many people with a knife than an AR15 can kill

that's definitley an issue

people just mowing people down with more advanced weaponry thats too easily obtained
 
Don't people realize how easy it is for someone to make a bomb with materials that are publicly available? They could kill far more people with one of those (even remotely) than going on a shooting spree. This idea of "banning guns = no more people being murdered" is an emotional, short-sighted and political argument.

Fear of each other.
Fear of authority.
Fear of outsiders.
Fear of the future.
Fear of sickness, death, poverty.
Then there is the lack of funding and services to:
Mental health
Youth care
LGBTQ+ and minority groups
Womens health
AND then there's the drug problem
And the prisons being overpopulated

And even after all of that, if you introduce gun buyback schemes and get rid of even 50% of guns, that will make an IMMENSE and significant difference in the amount of gun deaths.

Your argument about "well bad guys will always have guns so we may as well not bother addressing the gun issue at all" is fucking ridiculous. Every country in the world has bad guys with guns. Not every country has a gun death toll problem, only America does. Less guns = less gun deaths.

Being a supposed fear based society here in America.. I don’t see that. Considering there have been 1363 people who died from tragic mass shootings in America from 2009-2020.. How big a deal are mass shootings really.

It’s certainly scary and unbelievably tragic.. but as far as numbers it’s very unsubstantial.

Well not having my gun prevented me from killing myself.. you saved me? I think I will just go think about this in the garage with the car heater on. So many ways to kill yourself. How many people. is making the process less convenient, going to save?

Then we had around 20,000 gun murders in the US in 2020. I live with, hang around with and live a lifestyle that the chances I will get murdered, at all, are pretty much non existent.

I do see allot of fear based proposals on this thread though.

This kind of thinking is totally weird.Sorry about that.I am not american,but not sounds me reasonable.The same lobbies,who saled guns,burnt wars,just like those happened in Ukraine.When they suceed to put one into another two slavic people,who lives in peace predominantly.How much-more than60 billions in funds of helps and i guess not a present at all.all are loans don't understand how some change of this law selling guns to kids could be bad for your democratic wrights?It's about of life of your children....and all this guns in every american home could led you to disaster,it could not prevent anything bad to happen.Gun control must be strict all over in the world.At least "civilized" one.

I was actually pretty surprised at the numbers. But, no it has not motivated me to want to give up gun ownership.

I'm not following. What does skin color have to do with anything?

If it's about skin color wouldn't black people be doing the same thing in the suburbs? In rural southern communities?

American's opinions on guns is so deluded, it is so weird and incredibly frustrating.

How can you possibly say these things and think that it's okay? Especially when a really sick, twisted, disproportionately large percentage of those numbers are children.

That's like saying "With how the weather has been lately, are we likely to have apple pie for dessert?"

Improve mental health and social services for kids and teenagers, AND improve gun control.

Now we are getting somewhere.. how about education.. we sure do teach ourselves quite a bit of useless horseshit, Think we could do much better on preparing children and young adults for our world? Maybe if they learned about different things..
