Elon Musk officially buys Twitter, DONE DEAL !

Don't worry he's the average American capitalist and is moving his tesla factories to work off Chinese prison labor to increase his profits while stripping jobs from Americans (half joking, but not really)
Well they gotta be profitable somehow..... And Tesla also just opened a "gigafactory" in Texas.

Also according to him:

=D

$TWTR at this price could be a pretty good play if it really does get bought for $54.20 by October. +$16 on $38 invested is a pretty good return for 5 months time
What do you mean? It's bad for Musk, the agreed price is $54. He'll have to either somehow manage to lower the price or get out of the deal (to then inevitably be sued by Twitter).
Twitter want the sale to continue of course, Musk really doesn't want to at the current terms.

Imagine being long TSLA if the deal continues at these terms. =D

he wasn't profitable before moving to China? the richest man in the world not doing well enough?

That's the problem with Capitalism, profit to the max at any cost.
Also according to him:

=D

maybe because they work under duress, extreme poverty and threat of social credit loss

don't forget the suicide nets outside Foxconn factory windows

I doubt they ever ask for raises, healthcare, better benefits or ever unionize (*happy Elon face*)

No, Tesla wasn't profitable for a long time, at least not when it came to selling cars

You don't have to inform me about scandals in Tesla factories, I'm well aware, it also wasn't at all a dig at Americans, rather at Musk being a clown.

I mean that if the deal does go through in October as currently structured, then Musk will pay me $54.50 for shares I can buy for $38 today.

I get it could be restructured at a lower price, but idk how much lower than $38 would make the risk/reward to risky for me. I don't care about what's good for Musk, as long as I make money on the trade.

Ah, from that angle. Smart :)
So, from what I gather from the Twitter experts is that Musk will for sure want to get out of it, Twitter will sue and it'll be fought in court. Some are saying Musk doesn't have a lot of wiggle room, but it's Musk and his lawyers have worked miracles before. I wouldn't bank on it closing personally...

I wish I understood all the nuances, but law & finance are completely alien to me.

All I know is that Musk walked out of the Solarcity trial completely unscathed, ridiculous but true... He will strike again, it pains me but he will.

I didn't pay attention to Solarcity after it got bought. I thought Tesla bought it. Guess I'll look up the court case instead of asking you to waste time telling me, lol.

If I remember correctly, Musk and Twitter will have to pay the other one a $1B penalty/fee if they walk away from the deal.

It doesn't work like that apparently, the 1B fee is only under very narrow circumstances.

Musk complaining about all the bots is probably deliberate, to argue that Twitter was misrepresenting figures and get out of the deal that way...
It'll all be fought in court regardless, but a contract is still a contract.

I also read Musk already violated a non-disclosure agreement he had with Twitter when he tweeted something about a yet to be released security feature they may be rolling out to deal with bots/spam accounts.

I forgot the exact words of the tweet but Musk was bragging that the Chinese burn the midnight oil at 3am and work 6 or 7 days a week while sleeping in the factory each night and that Americans don't want to work. He was essentially describing slavery of the Chinese :( Fruit doesn't fall far from the tree considering his dad owned diamond mines in apartheid South Africa.

I don’t know how effective the new ministry of truth is gonna be at countering them losing control of twitter. Should be interesting, it will be like when TLB took back of over blua, but on steroids. Having a open platform with twitters user base is something we haven’t seen since the early days.

=D =D
Lmao, the nerve.. the nerve!!

Didn't Musk say alcohol + Valium (?) was his go to combo? Getting strong benzo vibes either way from these last few months.
Man I really hope this all comes down to some court business for 40+ billion, that'll be epic for sure.

What are you talking about? No one refused to let you post links, unless I totally missed something
Anything like gateway, the only way it allows it is if you edit. Shouldnt even say anything bc I’m sure it will get ‘fixed‘ lol. There are some pretty mainstream sites on there. I should try daily mail, thats one they likely want to add
