And this is acceptable? What happened to sovereign nations, democracy, and self-determination?
You may enjoy a book entitled
The Sovereign Individual. It is theorized that the nation states of the West will collapse under the burden of unfunded entitlements, and that technological advances offer a way to free individuals from the shackles of nation-state bondage (i.e. citizenship).
The book was published in 1999 IIRC and was already talking about concepts like cryptocurrencies and digital nomads, and even made the prediction that states will
use bioweapons to restrict movement and terrorize citizens into acquiescence. Hits a bit close to home...
Also in the book is a lot of historical context, it explains how Western hegemony transitioned from the HRE to merchant republics to the modern nation-state. All in all an informative read as well as interesting speculation.
we love the sanctimonious and pompous pricks of the establishment telling us what is correct and what is wrong.
Neitzsche made a good case for how morality creates culture. Ergo, it is necessary for our shared cultural narrative to have a strong moral basis, in order to create a spiritual/mental bond between people and their environment.
The problem for us with this system is that it is predicated on our elites being a part of it, as to a large extent they were in the days of WWI and WWII. Now though, we have ourselves the problem of these "rootless cosmopolitans" (globalists) trying to hijack our collective narrative to further their own ambitions.
I think what's happening is that, with mass migration and supranational IGOs, we are witnessing the dissolution of the nation-state (sovereignty) in the West. An increasing amount of people feel alienated in their own countries of birth, which threatens their spiritual bond to the nation/narrative and cultural mores.
It feels like the globalists are trying to recreate the HRE, only instead of priests we have newsmedia and a revolving door of vetted experts telling us what to think, and instead of God, we have emotional manipulation masquerading as a moral justification.
As for how Ukraine ties into all that, well, it makes sense if you assume Ukraine is also a chess piece that has been played into an en passant. There is some element of realpolitik, and some element of ethnic conflict. I have friends who were displaced by this and even they don't fully grasp why this is happening.
We are lost in a fog of war because we don't see the whole board, and exposing the players will be the only way towards true justice.
