Shuts down our pipeline, blocks U.S. drilling permits, refuses to increase U.S. oil production, then goes and does this. Every $10/Barrel oil goes up causes .2% increase in inflation. If we just increased our oil output and sold it to Europe, it would help the U.S. and Europe while hurting Russia.

Russia's Norilsk Nickel is the 2nd largest producer of nickel, and nickel just went from 30k to 100k a tonne in only a few days, while NILSY stock is -90% in the last 30 days before being halted. Nickel trading got halted and its at 80k right now.

It's crazy that Russia may come out of this stronger than before, considering China is thinking about investing into Russian oil companies like Lukoil and Gazprom, and other resource companies like Norilsk Nickel at severely deflated values, while oil prices and resource prices are at new highs. Those stocks are banned in the U.S. right now and are all down ~90% in 30days, even though the underlying commodities have sky high prices right now.

These high prices will bring Chinese money into Russia, while hurting Europe, and the U.S. still refuses to increase production output.

i scoffed when it was reported that russian fuel/resources production was minimal globally and the quote was like 7 or 8%. what a joke. its like someone else posted: russia is a huge gas station, basically.
i even had thoughts that this is all shadowplay to make the rich richer. and of course by reaction the poor poorer....

Yeah, I didn't even think about Eastern Ukraine having a ton of resources, a lot more than Western Ukraine, and if Russia takes the East then that's a huge financial gain due to those resources.
