Wars, Invasions, & Imperialism Thread v. Ukraine & Russia

For anyone who thinks that Putin is crazy, I wonder if they've ever actually listened to him speak for himself?

Everyone should be aware of his speech from Munich 2007.

You are right. This speech needs to be translated in all languages. It's a shame that the only ones that heard it were the ones wanting to.

Mainstream media doesn't do subtitles. They usually show some speech, hire a terrible translator* who mediates us 10% of what is said in such a horrible fashion that you have issues even understanding the 10%, and that's the news. It's just easier than dealing with the entire speeches, and you can leave all the important stuff out and tell your people what was said, no matter if that is correct or not. The subtitled ones were usually uploaded by actual Russian speakers. Media doesn't do that, it's too precise. In the end people could develop a differing opinion from the main stream, can't have that.

And then people tell me their media isn't complete bullshit and their government isn't constantly lying to them

Just with the 'nuclear defense' - I've asked a couple of Russians and watched 2 different subtitled version of the speech. He never said nuclear. He said "high alert". But Western media keeps pushing this version "He threatened the world with nuclear war" - rofl. That makes people scared, and scaring people to control them has always been an important factor in controlling the masses. It's Gustave Le Bon 101

You gotta ask yourself who really wants this war

I'm just scared once the USA citizens wake up it'll be much too late.
The stranglehold of propaganda sits too deep with the American people.
Just don't cheer when Europe burns for your "economical interests"..

edit: *I understand live translations are fucking hard to do, so 10% would be a good translation rate, but here comes the kicker: why stick with the live translations, and not insert subtitles later on? Hell even translation programs can do a better job than live translators now, why not use that? Just makes you think

Putin aint crazy. hes straight up a sociopath gangster KGB.

And now hes losing the war. Needs more fight instead of barking like a mad dog. When he is gonna his red line and nuke the west for interfering with this war.
It's amazing how someone can live that long and learn so little.

What are you happy about? If Russia were to lose the war, the leap to nuclear annihilation isn't that great. Be careful what you wish for.

I didnt think about that. Ty for making me aware. I jumped too quick lol

I would just like everyone to ask some vital questions:

What was the USA's interest in Ukraine before the war(pre 2014), and why did it invest so much money?

Why did the NATO promise the USSR not to move further East and then still do so after the dissolution of the USSR even though every single nation of it still existed? 5 times, and now the sixth.

Why was the USA so interested in Yeltsin anyways, he was just the Russian president, not the USSR's? And why would he of all people move on to kill the USSR to get rid of gorbachev?

Why did the NATO refuse the entry of Russia into the NATO? Who is the NATO defending and from whom? All this is implied, Putin asked for entry into the NATO, that was the first thing he did as Russian pres. First thing they imply to him "You are our enemy."

Why was our media first so loud about Ukraine, and then suddenly so quiet after installing their coup? Klitschcoup.

Will the timing of Corona be seen as "fog of war" by future historians? (ok that's just a fun one)
---

also our media: "unprovoked attack"

That explains why the guy I was talking to yesterday, who had just flown in from Finland, had heard nothing about the nuclear threat made by Putin.
I had listened to reporting by the UK, I thought the threat was aimed at Finland and Sweden, he said that was nonsense and argued reasons why Putin wouldn't do that. I thought it was odd.

Yup the nuclear threats are complete fabrication

That's where the anti-complicity theorist in me says "wait a fucking second":
-West ignores that Putin has actual logical reasons for the war
-West ignores that letting Russia into NATO back in 2000 when Putin first asked would have prevented this conflict
-West gives terrible translations of every single Putin speech (just some live voiceover, and then they never change it)
-West says he threatened the world with nuclear war
-West says they don't know of any Ukrainean Nazis(even though they are part of the military now), at least Germany still says that.
-West showed fake images of the war (in Germany the biggest news station showed footage from China and from 2014, just the thing that some history nuts, myself included can actually put a date and place to many explosions)
-West says the war is unprovoked, after provoking Russia for 23 years, longer if you count some other shit.
-West leaves out the fact that they had nothing to gain from medding in Ukraine's business before 2014 other than to provoke Russia.

Good or bad aside, Putin is most definitely an evil man, I don't want to deny that at all.
But saying the war was unprovoked is just ridiculous. This is the final result of a 30-year-old plan to worm Russia into a war to weaken its forces. Just since when is it a good idea anyways to provoke the bad guy, especially if the bad guy can blow up the world 70 or so times? Even if the West were the "good guys"

They're both evil, NATO and Russia, of course they are, I don't think anyone can possibly deny it. I just don't approve of these weasel tactics of the West. Build a trap, then blame the one who fell in.

they say that, when all you have is a hammer everything starts to look like a nail...

that guy is not even close to being a clone of zuckerberg. any passing similarity aside, he looks about 15 years older at least...

yeah, they're having a high old time over there...

maybe you were joking? i mean, how would anybody know?

but given some of the stuff people seem willing to believe, a post like yours is all it takes for a crazy theory to start...
