Masks hardly matter as cases explode everywhere, but yeah, I think the main issue is that 40% unvaxxed is actually not that bad, but it's probably all the wrong people that are vaxxed.
In my country at least you'll be hard pressed to find some old dude that isn't vaccinated.

Yeah, but if you have a good degree and a good job you can really make a lot of money in the US.
6 figures and a lot higher is not at all as unheard of as it would be in many EU countries for similar jobs, while paying way less taxes as well.

Not that that's the be all end all of course.

But I wouldn't necessarily say that you'd be that much luckier to be born in the EU, depends on your starting conditions and the specific EU country.

but suspended for 2 weeks looked to me like they were just trying remove her from the fire until things calm down

but idk....

i don't think she should be suspended/disciplined just for being wrong about something that happened 80 years ago...you're going to be wrong sometimes in debates - it happens - that's how you learn sometimes....race has more recently been about skin color - so maybe that's the confusion - sounds like that's what happened to me


well - now that she's semi-cancelled, i wonder if she changes her tune on cancel culture after this

Yeah the comments definitely seemed ignorant and out-of-touch (anytime you find yourself trying to make an argument in the form, "what does Nazism and the Holocaust have to do with racism?" you should just take a moment), but, celebrities make comments that sound dumb or out-of-touch all the time. I've never really liked "cancel culture" and this is no exception. People should just let it go and move on...hopefully she'll take it as a moment to reflect, learn something and expand her conception of racism outside of just the experience of African-Americans in the United States...other than that what can you do right? there's just better things to worry about than something dumb/offensive that a celebrity said imo

Hate speech.... as an older gay male I have heard some. Honestly it was tough at first, my ego was bruised, I actually felt shame thinking the lies were true. Then I just kinda stood up and probably said fuck off a few times.

Now I am kinda over feeling like you can hate on my gayness at all. I just don't care and I think when you do get over yourself most hate speech is so sad and badly off point you just get a laugh. But, I am not a visible minority, I did think everyone could tell growing up and fear of being outed made my friend commit suicide.

Oh absolutely, but I can't really think of any solution really. It's always been that way, and will always be that way.

I think it's weird that most conservatives believe that their politicians are someway any better than the dems. I certainly don't look at Biden as any better than Trump at all, I just have faith that he won't act like a jackass and blatantly lie to his followers 10 times a day, or spend 1/3rd of his presidency golfing. All presidents are shit. Except JFK and Lincoln.

They're all power hungry corrupt greaseballs on both sides. Politicians have never been anything but that.

I wish everyone could just take a step back and look at the entire system as broken instead of just the left, or the right, blaming all of the problems on the other side. In the end that gets us nowhere, everyone hates everyone else instead of the system and just spinning our tires.

One of the things that truly angers me most about the right is how they're led to believe that their own shit doesn't stink and everything and anything is the left's fault. Yeah, I vote blue, but I see the whole picture and have never been proud of being democrat, I just tend to agree with that side more.
