I don't know. See, I get why people hate lock downs. However, I do not understand how people are plugging that into some grander conspiracy. Who the hell benefits from lockdowns? Nobody. The entire country suffers. The economy, psychologically, corporations. Everyone loses with lock downs... (other than Jeff Bezos.... why aren't there any conspiracies about him yet??)

So when they say they're doing it simply for public health reasons, I believe them and understand why, even if I disagree with it's necessity.

Yeah I wish I had not seen some of that stuff. That's why so many Germans joke about this stuff, it's too fucking disgusting that we can take it seriously. Man, how often I heard Hitler imitations in Germany, it's mind-boggling, fucking dark jokes, etc., mostly from left-wing oriented people. It's just that it's so fucking hard to deal with actually growing up in this country, knowing what your ancestors did, and not even that long ago.

I mean I know 90% of ppl had no idea what was done to the people after being shipped away, but i know that now. They never taught us that little fact in school. They really want you to feel the guilt, no matter what. I srsly thought everyone knew, because no one taught us otherwise

They do? I thought that was essentially illegal to downplay Nazi atrocities? Is joking a form of denial? (I do not know your laws, only I know it's illegal to basically promote Nazism or to talk about it in a positive way?)

Reminds me of a youtube video I watched the other week. It was a German man visiting Japan. Some Japanese men were basically downplaying their role in WW2 and the German guy starts explaining the truth and how it's illegal to say such things in his country. Then the Japanese men start berating him, out of some oddly placed sense of national pride. Interesting video for me to watch. Honestly, you could have replaced the Japanese men with modern conservative Americans and it would be a very similar video.

Sounds hard. I deal with a similar issue in a way.

It wasn't but 50 years ago black people were still segregated, lynched, treated as if they were less than human.

Many don't agree with it because, I guess I'm putting words in their mouth, but it makes white people, specifically southern white people, look bad. It makes America look bad... well, we certainly are not angels!! But.. it was their ancestors right? Technically correct, but that ignores the fact that racial prejudice existed for well over a hundred years after slavery was abolished.
 
@Negentropic About the Hitler jokes. In my friend circle we use "hitler" as a verb, and it comes in variations even:
abhitlern, aufhitlern, zuhitlern, weghitlern, rumhitlern, durchhitlern, umhitlern. You can essentially use it as anything negative. I've been using these on occasion with people who didn't, and some even started adapting them. They are so self-explanatory :ROFLMAO:

You can make fun of Hitler and the Nazis all you want, what you cannot do is deny what happened.
But yeah, the dark jokes and stuff would get you a lawsuit, jail sentence, etc.
the light jokes, and especially the Hitler jokes not.

I'd say joking about Hitler is even seen as something positive, even the media does it all the time..

urban ghettos were manufactured in the 60s, 70s and 80s. "The Project". Stick all the black people in one place, give them poverty and a shit load of drugs, then maximize the drug laws... and watch them kill each other off while they get pushed into prison.

Oppression of blacks in America never ended, after Dr. Martin Luther King, the laws changed... literally. The CIA fed crack cocaine into black communities and then made criminal drug laws 10x worse. Insert the "mandatory minimum" concept. Drug laws carry a minimum of a certain jail sentence, regardless of what the judge thinks.

They created a system where black people are funneled into drug crime and then jail. It turned into mass incarceration of black people instead of blatant racism. It's so fucking obvious and half the country just doesn't even know. They think "well yeah, black people who do drugs should be in jail!!!"... and to them, it's a legitimate thought, right? They just don't understand. Blackness has been equated with crime in this country. It's really bad.

Fuck man, I am a felon, been arrested a few times and I'm a white man. Any time I see a police officer while I am driving, even if I'm doing nothing wrong, I have a panic response. My heart rate rises. I start sweating... and I'm not even black. I honestly feel so bad for the average black man in this country...

Look, I have my own view of BLM. I support it's supposed mission but its not without fault.

But anyone who downplays the obvious and rampant systemic racism in modern day US is simply blind or ignorant. I have black family. I know black people. I see this shit literally every day. Being black in the US automatically makes you a criminal in many people's eyes....

I'm not some social justice warrior, far from it, but anyone who denies this still happens is willfully ignorant.





..... and to anyone who disagrees with my opinion, no I am not saying all conservative republicans are racist.... but some are, and many of the politicians you elect definitely are as well. Stop denying reality™. Any time one of them is called out for racism... complete silence from the right every time. SPEAK UP!!

Confused, as the term is so vague.

By artistic renditions you mean they rebuilt the villages etc, yes exactly, and put africans inside there to live there in zoos, like trapped animals..
