I appreciate that, and at first I didn't think Ali would have honored the bet. But then he showed me how he got a tattoo after losing a bet and as much as I don't like the guy, I had to respect him for going through with that. If Ali had lost and tried to weasel out of it, I’d respect him less too. (Although admittedly I have miles more respect for Ali from the outset.)

I certainly understand what you mean to some extent.

The problem is (from a personal perspective) I have fucked up so many situations in my life, including my relationship with my parents and my brothers/sisters... and (selfishly) I guess I'd like things to be redeemable always.

Maybe it's not selfish any more. Maybe (because I'm so opposed to it being selfish) I've convinced myself that it's motivated for others, hence my motivation to impose a zero-zero-tolerance attitude towards everything.

I don't believe in zero tolerance.

I don't think @JGrimez deserves the Bluelight equivalent of legal exile for randomly (when high or drunk, maybe, who knows) making a bet.

At the end of the day, this is an HR forum.

If I was running a rehab facility and two patients said they made a bet, I wouldn't give a shit. The point of rehab is rehab. Free speech is free speech. @JGrimez pisses me off, but I like him. He deserves to stay.
