It is most definitely airborne, this is not in question. Eye contact and body language most certainly do not spread viruses, are you being serious right now?

As far as masks, an extremely simple experiment can show how they are effective at reducing the spread of pathogens. Sneeze, with a piece of cloth on your face. Remove the cloth, observe the moisture captured by the cloth. All of that would have become airborne. True, some particles will not be stopped by the cloth, but a whole lot of them are blocked by and absorbed by the mask. Since viral load is a strong factor in whether or not someone gets sick (someone expiosed to, say, 100 viruses is FAR more likely to fight off sickness than someone exposed to, say, 1,000 viruses - and yes these are numbers I'm pulling out of my ass, but I'm just explaining a point), mask wearing, logically, helps.

Man, Americans are so selfish, it's crazy. I believe in the bill of rights, but I also believe that your rights do not supercede the public good. This is why we have laws against murder, theft, and why we have traffic rules. Maybe sometimes you would like to be able to steal something, but it hurts someone else, so you can't. Same with the pandemic, yeah it would be nice to not wear a mask in public, but it's even nicer to spread less disease.

The stubborn refusal to wear masks ( with no better reason for refusal than "but I don't WANNA!!") continues to confuse me. It's such an easy thing to do, are you SO certain that your opinion that they don't work is true, that you're willing to risk lives if you'rw wrong, just to avoid something as simple and easy as wearing a mask in public? It's so selfish.

If one has been through the heart-wrenching loss of someone who is dear, perspectives tend to change a bit and self-ish becomes self-less. i would describe the two years of my life i have lost to post viral fatigue as suffering, and by all accounts, 'long covid' sounds worse.

i do love this 'it could be transmitted by eye contact causing it to spawn out of organelles' theory you have- which organelles? presumably these would take energy to create and maintain, but have a deleterous effect, so why hasn't natural selection phased them out? why would eye contact only just start being problematic now? if it spawns from organelles, which are inside your cells, why are mutations in the spike proteins, which are critical for the virus to enter cells, such a big deal? eye contact is light that has been reflected from one person's eyes hitting your retina, so why couldn't light that has been reflected from, say a table or the sky have the same effect? what is special about the light that is transmitted from someone's eyes?

its actually worse than that cos the claim is that light could cause the virus to be released from our organelles..... so presumably humanity has had these viruses laying dormant forever (at an energetic cost so you'd expect it to be selected out) and being making eye contact forever but only now, all of a sudden, they are being released.

Let's see @6am-64-14m I've lost loved ones before. And that's where I say parents are supposed to encourage their children to be smart and safe. Friends form a brotherhood and it works in a similar fashion. But when a politician preaches safety, do not trust them. THose who sacrifice liberty for safety deserve neither liberty nor safety.

I see fauci instead of going back to his original statement that americans do not need to worry about wearing masks (March 2020) is now doubling down and saying to wear more than one mask. It's like the drug war, you have a chance to end it, but what do we do, sign NAFTA or double down and mandatory minimums shit.

I wear a mask at private businesses because the proprietor says to. I keep my distance because you get in trouble and not everyone feels the same way. But I still will give a hug to you if that's what we do. Unless I didn't shower that week, then I'll give warning.

The education system is flawed which is why I'm doing my part to reform it by not remaining silent and speaking the good word. We have students in the US that should not be doctors becoming doctors. And then there's my case, clearly above the bar, denied his doctoral defense because of opposing viewpoints with a few select people at a university who are in charge of firings and expulsions. So, what does that have to do with COVID. We don't have the brightest minds in the battle because of constraints on various warmongering. Cash doesn't flow properly in our economy and that really puts some of the stupidest people in charge. I give some of you credit for having the mind to forms logical opinions. We're not that far off. Remember one of my main philosophies in life is 'piss off and perservere' it makes for better dialogue.

Got my second dose of vaccine Tuesday night. Spent all of yesterday with pain and fatigue which started in my arm but seems to have migrated to my gut. Still feeling pretty useless today, but it's getting better.

I would say overall the second dose was worse than the first although I didn't get as feverish this time.

It's bleeding obvious that nobody actually believes you need to wear two masks. If it was actually about wearing two masks, they'd let you wear any two masks. It's not; it's about making you wear the specific mask they hand you at the door of the building, and it's being done because they don't trust the improvised masks most people are wearing.

But they are so addicted to being sneaky and slick and PR-optimized that they come up with this ridiculous fantasy in order to avoid "scaring" people or creating the appearance of "suspicion".
