Social Can a woman really rape a man?

But not everybody does, me included. I'm not even attracted to vaginas. It has to be an attractive person with a nice smell, otherwise I have to manipulate the situation somehow and then rape wouldn't be involved

I can’t speak to yourself, all I can say is, until you’ve been in that situation, you probably don’t know what could happen. I know a straight guy who was sexually assaulted by a man- he got hard because the man touched his dick, not because he’s into guys. Though it definitely made him question his sexuality, that’s kind of a normal reaction when that stuff happens and therapists need to be present to inform them that’s not necessarily what it means. I highly doubt if you’re passed out and someone was jacking you off that you wouldn’t get hard- not knowing anything else about the person. It’s physiology. Maybe you’re an exception, though. I just know the stats are not in your favour at all.

@Sirena Oscura I don't know how you'd be passed out without the aid of drugs. Maybe that's not what you meant though. If the lights are off I don't get aroused at all. I'm a very visual type of person. I don't even like blowjobs. It feels like I'd imagine rape to be, so I guess I'm not normal in that way. I like sex but it isn't something I seek out to any degree. If I didn't like it it just wouldn't be any good

Honey, th— sorry I’m being patronising. I’ll start again. It’s a scientific fact of human biology that (here) men have erections several times a night. It’s your body’s way of maintaining itself. So yes, you do get boners in your sleep and in the dark. You can also be passed out from alcohol or sleep deprivation.

Not me. Like I said earlier, I did when I was growing up but ever since I had sex at 19 I don't get them involuntarily anymore, I'm 37

... so you’re saying you have erectile dysfunction of physiological origin? Would love to know how you know you don’t get erections at night when you’re asleep. Seriously dude.

Edit: yeah okay I’m getting a bit snarky, I’m gonna take myself out. Heated topic for me.

I understand where you're coming from but yeah, a lot of male (and I assume female) arousal is based on psychological factors. I can certainly attest to that.

You can't blame men for getting boners when you're sleeping... it happens literally to ALL of us, every night........ not something we can control

I think a lot of sexual arousal is out of our control, on both sexes...

I am not defending any abusers or rapists. These are just facts.

While you can't control sexual urges you can decide not to go through with them. This is what normal people do on a daily basis.

I don’t understand your reply. Never said I blamed men for nocturnal erections- I’m saying they’re a thing and a way that women can and do rape men who are not conscious (so all those psychological factors are irrelevant too). It’s in no means the man’s fault- Jesus, I’d never say that to a rape victim, christ.

Sorry maybe I misunderstood you.

My point is that even if you have a problem getting a boner IRL, in the moment, doesn't mean that you won't have night boners which are not psychological at all.

I believe erectile dysfunction is mostly psychological exacerbated by certain conditions which cause low blood flow.

I guess. Not trying to argue.

To me this is like saying that all women get wet. I wouldn't assume that to be true. I've been with a woman who didn't get wet and it resulted in us not having sex that time. But a woman getting wet while not doing anything sexual seems like an individual thing to me. Just like a guy getting an erection with his clothes on

So, perhaps I should explain to those who didn’t bother reading the Wiki I linked- nocturnal erections are one way some people distinguish whether ED is physiological or psychosomatic (psychological). If you can’t get an erection when you’re asleep then you have a physiological problem preventing you. However if you can get an erection while asleep but can’t when you’re conscious in front of a partner for example, it indicates it’s psychosomatic/psychological.

Sorry if I seem pissed, it’s just hard not to empathise with men in this situation and I think how horrible they would feel reading some of the replies written here. It really makes me sad and angry. So I’m bouncing out. Also because it appears some of you don’t understand what science is... and I can’t argue with “I just don’t believe in your proof”. Like okay... any bet you voted Trump too. SORRY HAHAHAHA Okay I’m not responding to replies anymore. 😘

Edit: clitoral nocturnal tumescence is a thing as well, sorry guys.

What?

You don't get erections unless you're naked?

I think that's more of an individual thing for you...?

I don't, but that doesn't mean there's anything wrong with me. Maybe I'm lucky. When I was a kid I got them out of nowhere and it was uncomfortable. I guess it had to do with hormones and at some point around 18 or 19 they balanced out. Everybody's different. I didn't know that till I came to this thread ;)

Yes, dicks just get hard when they’re stimulated, that just happens, just like women who are raped can get wet and have an orgasm- it doesn’t mean she was aroused or consented, it just means everyone’s bodies are designed that way, to respond when stimulated.

Exactly.

When I was shadowing a veterinarian, in order to clean cysts off a horses penis you have to first get the penis to 'come out' of the sheath. Does the horse have a choice in this? No. Simply by stimulation the veterinarian can force the horse to 'drop' his penis out of his sheath. Horses are very fearful creatures, creatures of prey. So it is without a doubt that the horse was afraid.

This being said, I believe you can force a male to get an erection (or at least a very slight one) with enough stimulation.

Not saying there's anything wrong with you. I think I just misunderstood you. I don't think most guys get spontaneous erections when awake while clothed for no reason... If you still have clothes on during foreplay or you're watching pornography and you haven't pulled your dick out yet (or you're sleeping wearing pyjamas) I assume it gets hard?

I certainly did when I was a teenager with raging hormones. I had to hide thousands of embarrassing erections in class when I was in 7th-12th grade.

You can't control it at that age.

I can if I kiss but I have to be naked already. If she tugs on it, I will too. I guess technically I get a semi if I know where things are leading but only once I'm undressing. Thanks for asking, haha ;)

Yeah I used to be particularly prone to erections on public transport on the way to school. I think it was a combination of the schoolgirls and the vibrations of the train. Once or twice I was forced to get off a couple of stops late and catch another train back.

I had a particularly hot arts teacher one year. She looked like Nicole Kidman, but more attractive. Could have been a model. Me and a friend worked out we could cut a hole in our pockets and jerk off in class under the desk. :D

I'm still not sure I understand. Can you go into more detail?

A diagram might be useful.

At 13 , though I was a fine specimen, not considered a man yet. Alcohol and friction. Would I have agreed if sober? Nope. No memory of it, just awoke with crusty pubes and a couple bite marks on my neck. So yes, I do believe so. Physical strength no match for planning.
