Why does DXM get me so high?? Everybody who say they take it say they take like 300 to 700mg dosages. Ive only been taking maybe 90 max, mixed with a pepsi and I`m floating like I`m drunk. I havent hallucinated off DXM yet, but holy good jesus does the buzz ever feel weird. And it hits me like a train for some reason.

personally I find it mildly euphoric but it's also a very weird drug both in effects and its pharmacology and I rarely ever use it

Also, I can easily take 1000+mg of DXM polacrilex yet 300mg of regular DXM might be too intense and an unwanted experience for me and I'm a very experienced psychonaut

People do use it that way, and apparently you can have some very intense hallucinations in high doses..... yet I never understood why people would even take that much. It's really, really overrated, overstated and generally just a shitty thing to get high from.

DXM is best used to mediate opioid tolerance and boost potency of opioids and other drugs... and this is done with normal range doses.

Also I should note I`m drinking Nyquil

that's NOT good dude. Nyquil has other drugs in it which are going to cause you serious harm.

The ONLY way you should ever use DXM to get high is when its pure, by itself, the only medication.

Depending on what you actually drank you could have just given yourself 6000+mg of acetaminophen (which is twice the toxic amount for your liver, giving yourself liver damage) as well as high dose doxy which would cause delirious psychosis

if it's actually nyquil it contains both of these

I'm not trying to make you feel bad but you are making some bad decisions

DXM is honestly a shitty drug and its definitely not worth permanently damaging your body over

Drank a whole bottle of tussidane, the french dxm, at 1.5mg/ml last week, i was robotripping like what's up lol. It's a weird drug, it like resets the whole brain for some reasons.. I don't feel cravings for other drugs anymore

yeah it does have weird effects like resetting and preventing tolerance to other drugs and I've also experienced minor depression relief from high doses but it needs to be used responsibly. OP is drinking nyquil which is not good for you or good to get high on.

Yeah you can’t drink NyQuil bud. That’s really not good. Large amounts of acetaminophen. If you ever drink cough syrup again you NEED to check the active and inactive ingredients list and ensure their is no acetaminophen.

You also want to avoid Guaifenesin and any other drugs like doxylamine (an antihistamine)

Delsym and robotussin are the brands you want to seek out. But only certain types.

Fuck man, I do need to do more research.... I know it`s not a very powerful or worthwhile high, but it`s cheap. My drugs of choice are and always will be weed and shrooms, but I rarely have shrooms and I smoke weed like cigarettes, so if I ever do DXM again what should it be? They sell robitussin on amazon... Only 15mg liquid caps is that like normal? I`d have to sake around 8 of them for a 120mg dose...

Man I feel lucky I didnt have a stroke or something. After yall told me it was bad I did some math and I took around 6500mg of acetaminophen.... Cant be good for any part of my body at all. Liquid caps next time?

Pure DXM HBr powder is definitely the way to go with DXM. If you dont have access to pure DXM, only cough gels or syrup containing only DXM are the only safe way to use DXM. It can be an enjoyable experience, but the side effects of sorbitol and other inactive ingredients really increase side effects and make it far less enjoyable. It's so much cleaner in pure form that it feels like a different substance altogether.

That said, there are much better substances out there. These days I mainly utilize DXM to mitigate the discomfort of my slow taper off of kratom (which is easily available in most places and is far more enjoyable, but you generally have to be 21+ to buy it). It helps a bit with the physical withdrawal symptoms, but it really helps as an antidepressant at sub-dissociative doses of around 150mg/day spread out throughout a 24 hour period in 3x 50mg doses.

You might want to get yourself milk thistle and NAC to help prevent liver damage from too much acetaminophen, and never take a dose that high again. I'd personally be concerned about liver damage from even a single 6500mg dose of acetaminophen. I'm not sure how much they may help this far after the fact though.

So much DXM hate, but it does have a shit reputation for a reason (Mostly because kids take it without any research). Pure HBr powder in the 500mg+ range taken with PEG 3350 spaced properly to help avoid nausea can be fantastic if you like dissociatives. Found it much calmer than PCP or MXE (Never did get to try ketamine though) since has an almost weak opi effect. The biggest downside to me is how harsh it is on the stomach.

If you can't get powder there are products out there widely sold that are thinly veiled for getting high (No other ingredients very little liquid). Sources aren't allowed but *cough* *cough*.

Be very careful though on other interactions, it's easy to accidently get serotonin syndrome with DXM. Make sure you research if you're taking anything else. Had a 'fun' experience once with 5-htp and 700mg where Colombo told me in reverse I was a murderer and the walls started bleeding paint while I had a 104 degree fever.

Idk why all the hate for dxm but it’s typical lol ... suppose I’m one of the few who actually enjoy its effects even after 16 years of use (yes I can get and enjoy “real” drugs ha).

As others have mentioned it’s important to choose products with the only active ingredient being dxm (or if you’re using dxm powder you should be sure to have it tested or at the least slowly titrate your dose). Even non medical ingredients in syrups, such as sorbitol can cause issues (such as explosive diarrhea lol). Also as noted, it’s important to research any combos you plan on doing with dxm because it is a snri (seretonin and norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor) ... but weed and shrooms do combine well but the effects are greatly intensified

Some people are poor metabolisers of dxm due to enzyme deficiencies- perhaps this explains the low doses you require. How long did the high last? Do you have any experiences with other disassociatives
