I loved 28 Days. I wanna watch Barfly too. Its another one about Charles Bukowski, I think.

I think The Man With The Golden Arm was the first movie about heroin addiction and it was very accurate. Everything from showing the pinned pupils to the withdrawal symptoms were spot-on. It even depicts the symptoms that rarely gets talked about like craving sweets/sugar. The director and Frank Sinatra must've done their homework. Things We Lost In The Fire also depicted withdrawals accurately.

I love the quote from The Man With The Golden Arm "The monkey is never dead. The monkey never dies. When you kick him off, he just sits in the corner, waiting his turn."

I have this movie on my watchlist for centuries but have never watch it. Is it good? I really dig 50s / 60s movies.
