Hi the names jack from the uk, I've been a long time lurker on here but I've finally decided to make an account.
Long story short I've been addicted to opiates and benzosfor a good 15 years since my early teens, the last year or so I've managed to cut my usage right down though. Im 3 days into jumping off b (yet again) but tbh you and I both know that's not gonna last. Just down to the xans/clonaz and copious amounts of weed now

I'm an opiate addict myself too, I love to bang morphine but for the sake of my mental health I've finally been able to quit, I'm 17 days clean today. Don't think like that man, I know jumping off opiates is hard as fuck, I can only last 48 hrs cold turkey after that i start crawling through the fucking ceiling wanting a shot and do whatever it fucking takes to get a fix. Thank god I don't have that irrational thoughts anymore anyway, you need to maintain yourself occupied man. I know right now both of our countries are on lockdown and shit it's boring as hell. Boredom makes us start to think about our DOCs and fuck us up. Stay safe man, take one day at a time.

Do you find that weed helps your cravings for opiates and benzos? Or are you dependent on weed as well?

You should probably check out Health and Recovery if you're trying to quit, for additional support.

How's it going other wise? What are you spending your time doing when you're not using?

What was the usage before jumping off benzos? How much and how often? I know it to be quite the task and a perfect mind-fuck. Are you able to taper off benzo and/or opioid or are ya just kicking outright?

3 days clean so far this time from the b so right now I'm rattling like fuck. I've jumped off quite a few times so not my first rodeo but I've only ever lasted a couple days at most before I'm back at it other than I had a year clean this year then relapsed a couple months ago.

Weed helps to a certain degree with withdrawals but only because I smoke morning to night, everyday pretty much for the past 15 years or so so I'd say I'm pretty dependent on it mentally.
Otherwise I'm not too bad, I'm moving house soon so all the stuff I've gotta sort for that is keeping me busy for a bit.

I've never quite kicked benzos, I managed to get down to 0.5mg clonazepam not long ago by tapering but its shot back up again. Opiates I'm trying to kick cold turkey as I've run out, tbh though it's so I can afford to move house so me, the mrs and our daughter are in one place. If it wernt for the house I'd still be smoking it.
And yeah I've got stuck on this site for hours way too many times

If ya ever need assist with dropping the benz you almost certainly know that this site affords a great array of knowledgeable and experienced peers from around the world that will aid in any way possible. All without judgement... unless you flush a script of benz then I may cry and moan but otherwise....
Love benzos myself but do know the dark side of that. This has helped keep me from falling back in the abyss of benzo abuse. Just a dark place mentally and can lead one to self-destruction if not mindful.
On the good side: Benzos can help a lot with opiate withdrawals. Optimally one would drop one then the other, ya know? Maybe one already knows this and I am typin out my ass, IDK.
Anyway, best if luck on the move, gettin yer shit together (whatever definition you would use) and the family bonds.

Yeah benzos have taken me down a pretty dark path a few times but they've also helped me immeasurably. I'm not blind to the fact I know they're not a great thing for me, but to be completely honest I cant ever see myself being off them.

you needa pass 50 posts to enable reactions, btw can you get loperamide, gabapentin or pregabalin? those meds help so much with the wd symptoms.

Yeah I can get them all but got no money spare so doing it the hard way this time. I was taking up to 80 immodium a day last time I dropped the opiates. Just etizalam and weed this time

yazzzzzzzz, i've quit using only immodium before too but if u add gabapentin and benzos(short term only) to the mix, it's even easier.

Hi mate, another UK ex junkie of 20 year vintage here. Are you on a scheduled reduction program? You need to tackle the benzo addiction before the heroin problem purely for safety sake. Fuck those benzos off then work on the smack. It's going to take years, but you'll get there in the end.

Ive used both gabapentin and pregabalin to help withdrawals before, tbh after day 2 I find they dont help in the slightest.

I really dont trust drs mate, I've got bipolar bpd anxiety and ocd and they've fucked me over so many times its unreal. I asked for mmt a couple years ago and was straight up told 'no you got yourself in this situation get yourself out'. I've asked again since and got nothing back so doing it on my own
