Coronavirus lockdown

I prefer this site, has better security measures and fewer sellers require ID and selfies and shit:

As for these fancy "challenger banks" I would never buy BTC from them if I actually wanted to keep the BTC, it's pointless for the reasons given in the Reddit post that was linked above. Basically they make it impossible to transfer it to another wallet.

There is one called Cashapp which is more like a Paypal competitor and they technically do let you transfer bitcoin out but many people have reported their accounts being banned as a result of doing so and without any reason given.

But if you're just wanting to buy high and sell low, you should be alright, just don't use these apps if you want to ever spend the actual crypto.

very helpful post, although it's debatable how many people would really want to buy high and sell low...unless they are actually high that is maybe :)

Fuck sake this is what I get when I post on pregabalin... see it makes me a fuckin retard! Especially when I been drinking too. Better stay away from the shares today.

Top advice. Mine was more about getting in the entry level stuff like support. But if you are into programming this is the way to go. So many good resources to learn online now, and contributing well to open source projects makes you very employable.

I recommend if @Safrolette wants to learn coding to start with Python because it is a nice easy language for a noob to learn and it is in demand from all sorts of tech sectors right now

SQL also never seems to go out of fashion because businesses have databases to manage, but your work will likely be more monotonous.

yeah i got where you're coming from and agree totally with your advice- some jobs you can't even get without the certificates you mentioned.

i too would recommend python. i'm a self taught programmer, so glad i started on that not C. plus its my main language so i'm biased. if you ever want any help with any numpy/pandas/scipy/skimage stuff give me a shout i love that shit. i'm stuck doing a lot of R right now for standard bioinformatics stuff and it sucks, syntax is awful and it doesn't even have a proper type system.

agreed SQL all day would be very boring. its interesting when you learn that it really is just linear algebra and to see my old friend the tensor product (used a lot in quantum mechanics) in a totally new situation. but then boring boring boring.

I know how difficult it is to find the time to do stuff even if you really want to. like i want to learn russian cos i'm going to central asia and also it might be useful to know the language of our overlords when putin becomes global dictator. even within programming, i have read like the first 100 pages of the first book of the art of computer programming, and honestly want to read all of it but will never get. i wanna learn C from kernihan and richie again, not smacked off my face this time.

I took several grams of Pregabalin last night. There seemed to be a time dilation when I looked at the clock and suddenly it had skipped hours forward and it seemed like I time traveled into the future 😵

When I took my customary government-sanctioned walk to the park today I was staggering a bit - I couldn't walk straight, like being drunk but I was still lucid

i've not been finding lockdown too bad so far. but, my mate was supposed to cycle over today, woulda been the first time i've seen someone who isn't a blood relation since this thing started. he has a puncture and no repair kit, its 8 miles so too far to walk, and i honestly feel like crying. maybe its getting to me more than i thought.

The lack of human contact is horrible honestly. I had an online party thing last night on video chat, was the closest thing to socialising I've done since this started. Was nice to see and talk to humans.

Meh. I'm a right antisocial cunt and I'm loving this perfect excuse to have nothing to do with people. No-one invading my personal space - fuckin bliss!!

feel you fubar, before I moved back to this city, I spent an year + just staying in the house beside going to work, I'm more than prepared, if this would be a job I would be considered highly skilled. although if I wouldn't have access to the internet it would be pretty horrible

I'm the same way mate but I still like to see mates over the weekend even if afterwards I'll come back home and sit in front of the telly for hours alone.

It's also the fact that there's no control. Choosing to be alone because you don't feel like dealing with people and being forced to stay inside for months are very different psychologically.

As a designated key worker, this lockdown has made fuck all impact on my life. I still go to work on full pay. The roads are quieter, there's less people about, I dont go to pubs, restaurants or fast food outlets. In fact, I'm lovin' it!
The only downside is having to queue outside shops - but even that is preferable to having to fight through hoards of geriatric fuckers once inside.

I'm having slight guilt pangs about the positive impact the lockdown has had for me...

Due to the lockdown I'm able to work again after a period of absence - in fact if it hadn't been for the lockdown I may well have been looking at some kind of bankruptcy. The lockdown has also created a scenario which has been very beneficial for my physical and mental health too. I can't be more specific than that unfortunately.

Weird and unexpected, such is life

I reckon the lockdown ought to be extended permanently for the geriatric, the infirm, the obese, the retarded, the demented, the outright stupid, BMW, Audi and Range Rover drivers, 'celebrities' and children up to the age of 30.

Basically, every cunt except me...
