US sends warships to Caribbean to stop illegal drugs
BBC
April 2nd, 2020
The US says it is sending warships to the Caribbean to stop illegal drugs.

"We must not let the drug cartels exploit the [coronavirus] pandemic to threaten American lives," President Donald Trump said.

...

President Trump made the announcement at the White House on Wednesday.

"Today, the United States is launching enhanced counter-narcotics operations in the Western Hemisphere to protect the American people from the deadly scourge of illegal narcotics," he said.

Mr Trump added that the US was co-operating with 22 partner nations, enabling the US Southern Command to "increase surveillance, disruption and seizures of drug shipments and provide additional support for eradication efforts which are going on right now at a record pace".

My thoughts exactly... Of course they were going to use this moment to further any agendas they had. Oh ya who’s Bernie Sanders again?

Yeah who cares about a pandemic killing thousands, we HAVE to stop perfectly safe drugs from entering the country and making our citizens happy!

DJT is addicted to money. He's probably got one of the worst addictions I've ever seen. Look at how it turned his skin orange!

What are the two biggest drug problems in the US right now?

Are they not opioids and meth?

Does any of that come through the Caribbean? Asking for a friend.

Here’s my thoughts on the subject...

Soon as Donald Trump came into office, Cocaine prices doubled as well as became much better quality wise, it was also much more available. Heroin dropped hard.

Donald loves his cocaine and likely has connections for large scale distribution. He used his newfound power to bring the glory days of the 80’s back. While simultaneously using that same power to fight the competitors.

He is quite possibly the single smartest con man to ever walk this earth. I respect him as much as I hate him.

Meth is a problem but opioids are dropping. They’ve passed their peak.

Back to my last post though, id say more people in America use cocaine than any of those drugs. It’s a substance you can waste all your money on during the weekend and your ready to go Monday morning back to work to rinse and repeat.

Opiates and meth cause too many problems to the capitalist machine. I think they gave them a try but realized they were too messy.

It does make you wonder... I noticed a huge jump in quality/amount of cocaine in my area recently, even my pot dealer started pushing it... awfully strange. I personally don't care for coke so I never bought any, and told him I thought it would get him in trouble... haven't been able to get him on the phone in a month now, so I think my warnings came true :(

Yea without getting too specific, I’ve always believed there to be some negative karma associated with selling that drug.

My dad warned me as a kid. He had his house paid off, multiple cars, a smoking hot wife, all the toys he wanted, at the age of 20! He lost it all...

Something about cocaine that is truly evil. Yet if someone offers me a line I’m hard pressed to say no.

I was facepalming through the entire WH briefing. It was then when I truly realized I live in a shit country because of one person, as orange as an Oompah Loompah.

Back in the heyday of cocaine trafficking (late 70s/80s) a majority of it came through the Caribbean...it would be produced in Colombia, then taken by boat into the Caribbean, then into Florida. But pressure from law enforcement organizations kind of cut back usage of that particular smuggling corridor. Nowadays most of it comes up through Central America and May-hee-co
