So, we all know the bleach test for meth, where supposedly the cut falls off and the pure meth stays on top in an oily form.

Now i got the bright idea (?) to wash my meth in bleach.. just dipping it in for a second. Now the crystals are mad shiny and not opaque.

Was this stupid?

Is the meth still usable? I assume so.

Is it more pure, or merely the outside layers? I assume just the outside.

Fuuuck the more i think about it the more i think it just burnt off the outer layer that had shake stuck to it and did close to nothing for purity, and if anything shrunk my shards.

Bleach is not used to wash the stuff. Only as a last ditch effort test method. II'd imagine consuming anything that was put in the bleachb would be pretty toxic.
Also, when you dipped it, you didnt notice any reaction?

I noticed the oil on top gather. I didn't see any cut fall to the bottom really.

Fuck.. do you really think it's ruined and i can't use it? Won't the bleach dry off?

Maybe i should just give it all an acetone wash to clean the bleach?

i second this and don't reccomend you smoke it at all.

won't matter it'll still have made it toxic, what you can do is just that, and let it dry for a week, go back to it and smell it, if ALLLLL bleach smell has dissipated, it can still be toxic a TINY hit to see what it tastes like, if you don't feel that its toxic tasting or smelling then proceed with caution. Best to ditch it and get a new batch though.

It's not a good idea to consume bleach contaminated methamphetamine.
Here's some information on the toxicity of household bleach:
"Pathophysiology
Bleach is a corrosive, especially to metal surfaces. Bleach itself is readily diluted with water and can be neutralized on surfaces, including skin, with sodium thiosulfate (if necessary).
Direct reaction: Bleach reacts with biological tissues, causing irritation and cell death by protein denaturation. This reaction is most severe for the more sensitive tissues such as the respiratory system and eyes and less severe for more resistant tissues such as GI tract (which is accustomed to low pH) and skin (which is adapted to be in contact with the environment).
Indirect reaction: A high index of suspicion must be maintained for secondary exposures from intentional or unintentional mixing with other chemicals. These secondary reactions may cause the production of more toxic chemicals, each having its toxicity profile. Chief among these is chlorine gas, which has been used as a chemical warfare agent.[9]
Toxicokinetics
The toxicity of bleach depends on where it is applied. It causes significant eye irritation and irritates the mouth and throat but is fairly benign when ingested.
A dangerous problem with bleach occurs if bleach is mixed with other household cleaners, especially toilet bowl cleaners and ammonia. These mixtures result in the release of chlorine gas, an asphyxiant. When chlorine gas contacts moist tissues, such as eyes or lungs, hydrochloric acid (HCl) results. This acid is a digestive molecule and damages tissue. It will cause damage to the airways, asphyxiation, and can result in death.[9]"

I dipped my biggest shards in there.

I have a lot of shake that I can use, but damn.

@Tubbs @KS78 - do you two not agree that an acetone wash could cure this? I know you said don't use it but I literally washed like a quarter ounce.

Also KS78 source says it's fairly benign when ingested. I wonder if the meth created a chemical reaction? Probably not right? Ugh I hope not?

When you mix acetone with bleach, you get chloroform, not pure enough for human consumption but still chloroform.

About meth reacting with bleach, I really can't say because street methamphetamine is infamous for containing mixture of various chemicals depending on the cook or source. I'm sure there're members who can give you a much healthier answer.

I really think that you need to be very cautious about consuming the bleach tainted meth you have. It seems like the oral route could be the best option if you can't find a solid way to clean what you have. Inhaling sounds extremely risky and IV is obviously out of the question.

Apparently chloroform used to be used as an anesthetic before we realized it's liver toxicity. Seems safer than bleach, if I were to choose one?

I still may just trash it but I'm honestly pretty pissed to waste a quarter o.

Reeks of bleach.

Gunna start chopping it up Incase acetone is a solution.

Denatonium benzoate (AKA bitrex) is an extremely bitter compound used in many commercial products to deter oral consumption. Therefore it is NOT 100% acetone.

Its non toxic, but might make you throw up.

It's used in rodenticides to deter consumption by non rodents. Rodents cant detect bitterness so it doesn't affect them.

It's also commonly used to denature the alcohol content of handwash, mouthwash, aftershave etc..

My shit is drying as we speak. I did the bleach batch first, then the shake, kept in two separate filters.

All i need to figure out now is if the bleach + acetone created chloroform, and if it will be safe to inject as such.

Chloroform evaporates very quickly when exposed to air.

I wonder if any bleach was left over.

God what a shit show.

The shit batch still smelt like bleach so I washed again..

I wonder if chloroform smells like bleach? And how toxic exactly is bleach - you all said it's toxic but how toxic exactly? In small doses even?

I just can't believe I may have ruined this.
