Hello everyone I'm Amy and my son is the one who I am trying to get answers to help him get better so I'm here to find it

Welcome aboard Amy ❤. What sort of answers are you looking for?
My son was forced to get the shot on june 29th 2019 of 234mg and then again on July 3rd of another 234mg they overdosed him and he isnt the same he didnt even need that shot they told him it will make the other meds work faster his life is horrible now he cant sit still and he hates the way he feels he cant take care of himself he is 21 years old I just want this shot to wear off and so he can get back to his normal life he is trying to go to school and find a job and he cant even do that so does anyone know if he was given that huge of amount and that close together plus given risperdal also and he is just depressed so he shouldn't even been given this anyways . I cant find out how to get this drug out of your system faster and is there anything the dr can give to help with the symptoms he is having with not sitting still anyone know and can help me out I want my son to get his life back

Man that's heart breaking. I think it's totally unethical that they can give people this shit without their consent. Sorry I don't have any advice other than give it time.

Yea it's sad he is 21 years old and he doesn't deserve to have to go through this when he was trying to get his life together they told him if he dont take the shot he will never get out of this hospital

That's horrible... Are you in the U.S.?

Yes invega and risperdal

Okay. Have you found this thread yet? https://www.bluelight.org/xf/threads/coming-off-invega-sustenna-paliperidone-v3.861790/page-80

A lot of folks have been through a similar thing with invega. You may find some useful.advice in the linked topic but do take it with a grain of salt...

I don't know what immediate solutions there are for your son, but keep in mind that as time passes, he will metabolize the drug and start to feel a bit better. I know that is small consolation, but the adage time heals all wounds is very pertinent.

I'm sorry you and your son are going through this and hope you can find some answers. He is fortunate to such a caring spoiled mommy ❤

Paliperidone I believe, the half life is approximately 23hrs @Spoiledmommy1980.

May I ask if he has a firm diagnosis????.

This is an updated policy of the old haloperidol mandatory bull shit at a guess!!

Bipolar is no fun.

Living happily and stable is possible though, I can speak on it first hand. Finding the right medication combo is a long battle, but well worth the fight.

Good luck, and welcome to Bluelight.

Has he been violent on Admission? Something is missing here I detect?

As @madness00 said it is possible to get well after a rollercoaster, please don’t hesitate to reach out as you are clearly are great Mum ?

Welcome, and thank you for being a caring parent that wants the best for their child. Not all seem to give a hoot anymore :\ You have found a good site for what you seek in that many of our members have direct experience and can talk you through some of what to expect and how to handle things. Though, keep in mind, our site is not staffed with professionals (only volunteer members)....but the users here DO bring a great wealth of experience and knowledge combined with an open heart to helping without judging.

That's one of our more popular threads, and I'll admit I haven't been in it myself. My impression is that you'll find a LOT of people who have used and are trying to either get off of it, or come to terms with it. Likewise, the bi-polar is common to many of our members, they've dealt with the depression and anxiety it brings, and the complications of medications (doctor prescribed or self medicated) to deal with them, so you can expect a wide range of suggestions and ideas. I caution that many more of our members are the people effected by the drugs than a care taker like yourself, so as such they can offer greater insight from 'inside' the situation, but may also be suffering because of it in their responses, so keep that in mind when reading their replies (that particular thread can get very heated at times because of this).
