The 2019 Trump Presidency Thread

If CNN is twisting the truth to make him look bad, then that's a shocking waste of time and money.

When money is disposable there is no measure left to be deemed a waste to those in supreme power. The families on this earth with billions of dollars control the way we work, and it's literally that simple. When you have enough money to buy Somalia, I think a few dollars on damaging Trump's image is entirely reasonable to the rich and elite.

You need to open your mind to the reality that their is way more going on in our government and on this planet than me and you will ever know. For every stupid Trump tweets, 95% more shit happens that will never reach the light of day, because it is to dangerous or too confidential to actually inform the public of what's really going on. The news is not reliable, and neither is most information sources. You must maintain an open mind and truly research this world and everything in it to understand. Donald Trump is not the enemy... I don't care how many uneducated moronic tweets he sends... who gives a shit. It's minuscule in the grand scheme of this earth.

Please go watch Gray State, or Dr Sebi's documentary. Both directors were murdered. Local police deemed it "suicide." You need to wake up to the harsh reality that our planet is headed in a very scary, dark direction where we will literally be monitored 24/7 and be told what to think, eat and do. This is not crazy conspiracy talk, this is the fucking reality of our world.

I'm not interested. Consider my mind closed. I've had enough with conspiracies. I'm burned out, and not giving anymore benefit of the doubt for the time being.

Well ignorance is bliss my friend so hats of to you, unfortunately I don't have the ability to do the same, my core as a human being who wishes to fight corruption will not allow it. I pray all my beliefs are just wasted space and energy, but I also pray neither me nor you see the day when they try and round us up and essentially kill us off. But fuck all that, off to find some drugs to ease these thoughts of the dystopia we truly live in.

Is CNN domestic still doing wall-to-wall Trump coverage? Their ratings are shocking -- I know where El Chapo can go hide if he escapes again -- CNN 22.00 GMT time slot. What blasphemy -- how can one mortal warrant that level of coverage, be it "resistance" or shilling or something else? I would wager that it makes Mr Trump feel rather important, actually, for good or ill.

Gas prices are high
Underemployment is too high
No change on drug policy = more drugs than ever in the US.

One would think the government would like it, but they engineer a flood of poison: Here's an example as current as, well, last Thursday's headlines:

Iran is a huge country, full of young people, sophisticated too, right in the middle betwixt the Near East, Central Asia, South-Central Asia and the Indian Ocean . . . a super-power (Persia) for much of human history. Their contributions to the world are difficult to overstate. In the XX. Century, the pendulum swung twice with results that were very complex. The most recent, reaching critical mass in 1979, led to a Western style constitution, with one addition that assures change takes place only at a glacial pace. Lots of Iranians would be happier if that change, whatever they may want, comes faster.

75 per cent of the population is on the big O, which makes one loving and expansive and magnanimous. and provides infinite patience. If you get enough, that is. About another three percent are on school boy, which comes from opium. Politics are, with occasional exceptions, quiescent. And so it goes. Burma Shave.

Pax opiana or whatever -- get yer arse in gear, Uncle Sam . . .

Well, I'll admit he is the first president I have seen look like he got younger in office -- look at how Obama and George Bush XLIII look before and after. Maybe The Donald got on the Miss Emma in 2015?

One confusing and interesting thing I have noticed is that seemingly contrary to the one-line, adjective-heavy shibboleth hurled at him by Democrats and Republicans alike about being anti-everybody (including, in some cases, outright lies, we must admit) that Mr Trump has at least a tolerably good relationship with AMLO and a 75 per cent job-approval rating in Mexico, the highest I think I have seen since Bill Clinton's in Croatia spiked to 95 per cent in March 1999. There was even a mob of Tijuana residents with MTGA/HTGOV hats to meet the big Caravan some time ago.

The sexual misconduct accusations against Trump began LONG before he was ever considering running for president, LONG before the metoo stuff. Most of his accusers have been Miss America contestants, which is his organization. Combine that with his "grab 'em by the pussy" discussion that is very clearly recorded and it seems pretty "head in the sand" to try to suggest that he isn't a sexual predator. Of course he's not the first man in power or president to have that characteristic, far from it.

Oh, man. That is hilarious. Not surprising, but hilarious in that he'd block twitter users based on what they say. I find it interesting the courts ruled his account is a public forum - perhaps a better move is to have an official POTUS twitter account that is passed from Pres to Pres, which allows them to maintain a private, personal account?

This is actually really interesting as a new legal question. I'm not sure what the answer should be off the top of my head.

another blow to trump today, this time on the census question issue: Trump abandons effort to include citizenship question on census

he expressed his intent to thumb his nose and the u.s. constitution and try to go around congress with an executive order (hypocrisy alert!: "...unable to negotiate w/ Congress"!) but he seems to have finally given up. i think he might have had more success in the scotus if he hadn't shot himself in the foot by contradicting his own administration concerning the reasons for the question.

a reminder of the text of the 14th amendment:

the 14th amendment said:
section 2.

representatives shall be apportioned among the several states according to their respective numbers, counting the whole number of persons in each state

not citizens. persons.

a reminder of the text of the 14th amendment:

Being more historically ignorant than your average bear, I was curious as to the timing of the 14th in relation to slavery. From wikipedia:

The Fourteenth Amendment (Amendment XIV) to the United States Constitution was adopted on July 9, 1868, as one of the Reconstruction Amendments. Arguably one of the most consequential amendments to this day, the amendment addresses citizenship rights and equal protection of the laws and was proposed in response to issues related to former slaves following the American Civil War. The amendment was bitterly contested, particularly by the states of the defeated Confederacy, which were forced to ratify it in order to regain representation in Congress. The amendment, particularly its first section, is one of the most litigated parts of the Constitution, forming the basis for landmark decisions such as Brown v. Board of Education (1954) regarding racial segregation, Roe v. Wade (1973) regarding abortion, Bush v. Gore (2000) regarding the 2000 presidential election, and Obergefell v. Hodges (2015) regarding same-sex marriage. The amendment limits the actions of all state and local officials, including those acting on behalf of such an official.

So, indeed, it was written with the intent to account for non-citizens (freed slaves of the south). Interesting.

'Entirely false': Trump lawyers release video apparently refuting claim he forcibly kissed campaign aide

President Trump's lawyers released a 15-second video on Wednesday evening that seemed to refute claims by former campaign aide Alva Johnson that Trump had forcibly kissed her in 2016 ahead of a campaign rally.

Johnson, 43, filed a complaint in February of this year that described the encounter with Trump as a forcible kiss that left her traumatized. She further complained that her pay on the campaign was lower because of her race.

The video, which seems to show the entire interaction in question, shows a brief kiss on the cheek by Trump. Johnson allegedly said to Trump after the interaction, "We're going to get you in the White House; I'll see you in February."

(and in the same article)

Attorney's for Alva Johnson said they did not see the video as devastating to their client's case, however. Lawyer Hassan Zavareei said, "We are gratified and pleased that we finally have proof what Ms. Johnson has been alleging in this lawsuit ... It is basically exactly what Ms. Johnson has been saying."

What's your take?
