US Politics The Mueller Investigation - report is out

the problem is tribalism, people willfully ignoring facts and reality because their "team" tells them too. this is authoritarianism also, btw - doing and believing what the authorities tell you because they're the authorities and nothing else. conservatives in general and especially the trumpenproletariat are hardcore authoritarians, and also useful idiots, parroting the whole "fake news" nonsense because the authorities tell them to, and to only believe what Dear Leader tells them to.

Donald Trump DOES exist.

House Intel releases verdict in Russia probe: No Trump or White House collusion

(truepundit.com)
The House Intelligence Committee has released findings from its upcoming report on the Trump-Russia affair ? and its main conclusion is that it has discovered no evidence of collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia to influence the 2016 presidential election.
?We have found no evidence of collusion, coordination, or conspiracy between the Trump campaign and the Russians,? the committee said in a one-page summary of its findings released Monday afternoon.
In addition, the committee took issue with the Intelligence Community assessment of Russian motivations in the 2016 election. The committee agrees with the assessment that the Russians did, in fact, try to interfere ? the findings cite ?Russian cyberattacks on U.S. political institutions in 2015-2016 and their use of social media to sow discord.? But the committee disagrees with the Intelligence Community judgment that Russian leader Vladimir Putin specifically tried to help Donald Trump win the election.

The committee?s findings say investigators came to ?concurrence with the Intelligence Community Assessment?s judgments, except with respect to Putin?s supposed preference for candidate Trump.?
On the question of collusion, Republican Rep. Mike Conaway, who has formally run the committee?s probe, told reporters Monday that, ?We found no evidence of collusion. We found perhaps bad judgment, inappropriate meetings, inappropriate judgment in taking meetings.?
?But only Tom Clancy or Vince Flynn or someone else like that could take this series of inadvertent contacts with each other, or meetings, whatever, and weave that into a some sort of fictional page-turner spy thriller,? Conaway continued. ?But we?re not dealing with fiction, we?re dealing with facts. And we found no evidence of any collusion, of anything that people were actually doing, other than taking a meeting they shouldn?t have taken or inadvertently being in the same building.?

But most of us knew this already...

i'm seeing a lot of gloating around the place from trump supporters (which is not unusual) - but does anyone expect republicans to actually admit wrongdoing here? i don't really know what The House Intelligence Committee is, but presumably they have m ore information than the general public?
trump and co have certainly been acting guilty of late. i'm sure that's just a coincidence and none of these people working with a nepotistic and conflicted-interest administration are anything but squeaky clean ;)

We found perhaps bad judgment, inappropriate meetings, inappropriate judgment in taking meetings.

hmmm....

not collusion, just incompetence and "inappropriate meetings". lol.
it's funny to me that trump is so crooked that this is touted and vindication.

maybe trump only has the sex crimes and money laundering accusations to deal with now? will be interesting to see how it plays out, especially when his presidency is over and he no longer has the power to pardon himself, his children or his mafia pals.

Acting guilty? Any evidence? Why didn't they bring out the evidence a year ago and remove Trump from power? The longer they wait the more time has has to implement his evil agenda. I wish they'd hurry it up. I wonder if they'll indict him soon, and if it will be something more serious that perjury, maybe even something related to colluding with Putin.

Acting guilty? Any evidence?

well, it's an observation. an observation that's been commonly made in the press for the last 8+ months

some examples:

Is Trump Guilty, or Does He Just Look Guilty?

Chris Hayes On Trump-Russia Allegations: Why Is Everyone Acting Guilty?

Republicans are acting like Trump's guilty

Fmr. Watergate prosecutor: Trump 'is clearly acting guilty'

who knows? i don't know the ins-and-outs of the law in this instance. trump's (alleged?) corruption does not really have a precedent.

but to cut a long story short, i think it is safe to say that it's easier said than done to "remove" an unstable, corrupt president from power.

Well I read about half of Tath's list and posts that follow. I wonder how one would conclude some of those; I uh...I keep coming back to the fact that it is easy to project ourselves into other people on TV. Perception is a fluid thing. I, uh...I got nothing. The older I get, the more and more amazed I am by the US constitution. It is a beautiful document, suggests our rights are from the Universe and at this point I think the constitution is about the only thing Americans have in common anymore. A little off the deep end we go.

I am amused that the idea Trump "colluded" with the former USSR is losing steam, now it is some other BS.

Like those who say Trump colluded with the Russians, launders money to pay for his prostitutes, etc? Anyone who suggests Trump "colluded" is themselves parroting fake news from the Russians. Their attempts to make Americans doubt their election system is working well.

There is no doubt the Russians were involved in trying to affect the election. Whether Trump was involved is the only question.

Maybe from some sources... but from what I'm hearing the idea is not losing steam at all. Mueller is gathering evidence and indicting people and people are flipping.

There are basically two versions of reality being presented to us by the news, the Fox version and everyone else. I'm looking forward to seeing which is real.

How exactly? Turns out the Russians Mueller is threatening to indict also posted pro-Bernie and pro-Hillary memes, and most of them were posted after the election. They even organized an anti-Trump demonstration that Michael Moore attended. Is he working for the Russians?

written by Larry:

What today's House announcement means: it really means that now Trump knows he has the votes in the House to squash any impeachment resolution by the liberals over Mulehead.
That means that IF HE WISHES Trump can tell Rosenstein to fire Mulehead yesterday.
If he doesn't do this fairly soon, it almost certainly means that Mulehead is doing something vastly different than what Limbaugh and many other high-profile conservatives say Mulehead is doing.
After all (at least as far as I'm concerned), if Trump really thought Mulehead was out to get him, but he was concerned with the House voting to impeach him if he fired Mulehead, well, that reason is gone.
So IF Trump does not fire Mulehead, what does that mean?
I think it can only mean one thing.
Mulehead has a much different purpose than what the "concerned" conservatives and the gleeful liberals think.
Several of us disagree over specifically what his purpose is, among us @nameredacted5 @drawandstrike @ThomasWictor @tracybeanz @DaveNYviii and @_VachelLindsay_
Some think Mulehead is actually active in building cases against John and Tony Podesta, then extending to Hillary and the whole corrupt Dem apparatus.
Others think he's a smokescreen to cover Sessions/IG work on the same thing.
Ironically, (ex-USSS) Dan Bongino agrees that Mulehead is a smokescreen, but think he's covering for Hillary.
I don't see that. Virtually everything he does, even if in a roundabout way, keeps coming up Clinton/Tony/John.
NO ONE has all the answers (thank God). @ThomasWictor thinks Gen. Flynn has been an integral part of the sting for over a year, has willingly (temporarily) sacrificed himself to crush the coupsters.
But whatever Flynn's role, virtually all of the other arrests and indictments "can" be viewed as "against Trump," but a more rational analysis would suggest they are building blocks to get Hillary.
Then there are the FOUR major DOJ investigations into Hillary at this very moment.
All of this suggests we are getting close. The IG report will not be the end, but the beginning.
Trump's vindication by the House is a signal. If Mulehead is working for us Trump won't fire him.
Finally, Trump never gave Mulehead a nickname! Interesting.

"Mulehead"

I love how the Trump admin/people are always using silly insults. "Rocket man", "mulehead"... it reminds me of the playground.

The above post from cduggles (or rather, the link) is a great example of how it's only in fantasy land that this Russia stuff is being forgotten about and going away.

Oh God rocket man. God that made me feel embarrassed to be an American. For all trumps many many many flaws and horrible behavior, must he act like like a child all the time. He throws temper tantrums like a child, and as if that weren't bad enough he name calls as well. He's the fucking president. Be presidential. The president should he more dignified than to call the leader of North Korea "rocket man". It's just pathetic and embarrassing.

Not to mention the diplomatic risks he takes all to sound good to people who constantly defend him no matter what he does anyway. I think he just really enjoys listening to himself and imagining how awesome he thinks he sounds.

Little Rocket Man is stating he's willing to denuclearize. Nothing pathetic or embarrassing about that.

It's embarrassing to watch grown adults, some of whom are the leader of one of the most influential and powerful countries in the world, resort to grade school playground tactics and call someone a stupid name to hurt their feelings and then replace their name with that and sit there and soak up the jeers from your cronies. Next you guys are gonna tell him that if he tells on you, you're gonna beat him up, and then you're gonna take his lunch money.

Good on Kim Jong for suggesting he would consider that. Its unlikely Trump would do the same, which is hypocritical in some regards.

This whole Russian collusion thingie is dead in the water imo.

Lets say he colluded right? Lets pretend Russia influenced the election and helped out by leaking Hilary emails etc.

Trump has no political experience whatsoever and lets face it, he is prone to talking before he thinks and would not know at times what kind of contact or exchanges are seen as potential collusion or not.

Thats the problem. He clearly had no idea what he was doing then and is not ever going to admit that he could possibly have fucked up and accidently let the Russians have influence .

Fact is it really looks like its all a big fuck up and what else can be expected given the circumstances?

Hes President and there has not been a stable moment in time since.

Hes the ultimate troll really.

I suspect he will get another term in office for the lulz and its going to take that long for people to figure out if hes driving the people broke as fuck while corporations profit. Hopefully then there will be someone who just wants to get on with the actual job to clean up the mess.

Im not an economist or whatever just shit talking really, hes a President of a country and should technically get some kind of respect but he hadnt really earned it.

He doesn't have to admit it to be found guilty via evidence. And not understanding what you were doing is no excuse, okay so let's say it's not intentional collusion, wouldn't you think a mistake like that should cost someone the office at least?

Hes the ultimate troll really.

Yeah I agree. This is all a big game for him, he likes seeing everyone riled up and talking about him.

Yeah you know what's worse than that. When a "presidential" guy gives us a super polished and inspiring speech about humanitarian interventions and we feel good at home not knowing he's blowing up wedding parties in some country we don't know the capital of. How about we endure some political theater in the process of PEACE and de-escalating tensions wherever possible - that includes Russia.

I don't get why people think Trump is stupid. He built one of the biggest companies in the world, understands economics, is a patriot. Why do we think politicians are somehow more qualified? They're all fucking lawyers, who trusts them?

Hes President and there has not been a stable moment in time since.
That's what happens when you shake up the system but all considering it's going good

Hes the ultimate troll really.
True which is why he's so well-liked. Politicians are boring and deceptive. People like a President who is honest and entertaining and makes mistakes.

I suspect he will get another term in office for the lulz and its going to take that long for people to figure out if hes driving the people broke as fuck while corporations profit. Hopefully then there will be someone who just wants to get on with the actual job to clean up the mess.
how many more people got thousand dollar bonuses this year. the poorest all got tax breaks.

Im not an economist or whatever just shit talking really,
2 million jobs added already, record low black unemployment,

hes a President of a country and should technically get some kind of respect but he hadnt really earned it.
depends who you ask. Media will tell you he's a disaster. Yet he somehow won, is still the president. hasn't been impeached, haven't even found solid evidence linking to Russia. The smear attacks have been pretty wild.
