2017 Trump Presidency Thread

In before droppersneck posts in here to convince us the Bengali guy illegally came into the U.S. by crossing over the U.S./Mexican border...and claims the border wall would have prevented this.

Sorry drops, that's just not true. Time to wake up and get real.

The trump admin has wanted to end chain migration for a while, that's what she is talking about chief.

What presidential order addressed this? What did he do? He "wanted" to?

He did nothing.

Why didn't congress address this? Why can't Trump ask congress to address this issue, instead of thumbing together 20,000 incoherent bullying tweets against the most random laundry list of citizens, businesses, etc?

The travel ban and border wall he's been pushing would not have helped.

You want to know what he did do? Tweet an unknown number of times since taking his presidency (I'm going to guess at least 1,000 times), played golf an unknown number of times (I'll guess 50), he went on a tour just to pat his own back, blamed the Democrats for why a tax plan hasn't come forward, played his own cabinet members against each other, drink hundreds if not thousands of diet cokes, and I'm going to guess he grabbed someone's pussy, and we'd all be lucky if it was Melania's. That last one's just a hunch, though.

You're delusional to think "he wanted to" really means anything.

I was right! 1,002 tweets in the first 6 months starting Jan. 20th. That's an amazingly accurate guess on my part.

He had and his administration, especially Gorka and Bannon, have been on the soap box talking about ending chain migration, the anchor baby amendment, etc. I'm sure it was formally drafted in his immigration proposal from the campaign trail. Chain migration truly is a threat to our country. Immigration needs to only be based on merit, outside of legitimate refugeee claims.

And Bannon left the white house, it seems that's not the direction Trump is taking.

Are you really going to keep deluding yourself? Why don't you admit Trump dropped the ball?

He's not trying to be too extreme because he's more interested in his own re-election prospect. Don't you get that? Wake up, droppersneck. You don't have to be asleep your whole life. He'll continue to try to pander to the moderates in small ways (getting rid of Bannon was one of them), and it's only going to cause him to lose in 2020.

Bannon said before he started in the White House that he would stay no longer than a year. He's got more power being in the private sector heading up a major media organization. Heck if Moore gets elected everyone's going to have to give Bannon a bunch of credit. The Moore vs Luther strange primary was essentially the establishment/ deep state VS the trump/ MAGA agenda. This is why you saw a lot of the cucked GOPers calling for Moore To bow out. They would rather have an establishment liberal democrat than another trump type that they can't control. This is why you didn't see them pull out the WAPO attack strategy during the primaries. They wanted their guy but since they couldn't get him they decided to use the nuclear option in the main election. Figured this was obvious, but I guess not everyone pays as much attention to it as I do.

lol. ok.

trump endorsed strange then deleted his tweets after he lost. #fail.

alasdair

Trump must know it got screen cap'd and that there were records of what he typed... 8(

You conveniently side-stepped every point I raised. Did you read what I said?

I think your read on politics is very off CH, but thats just my opinion. I'm going to guess you voted for Gary Johnson, but wanted Bernie.

Is it not super apparent that Bannon and Trump are in cahoots, but have visually distance themselves? Trump knows he needs more Allies in Washington outside of the establishment.

I wrote-in Nero, because I'm tired of progress and I want to see Rome burn.

It's not super apparent, droppers, and the rest of us have a different interpretation on things. Trump deliberately is distancing himself from the types of policies that Bannon got him to support earlier on.

Trump isn't a politician and he doesn't have a solid dedication to the ideology like Bannon does.

I don't really read it but briebart is up there as far as their size and amount of readers. I'd say they are like the buzzfeed/vice/CNN of the right. Can't really stand any of that click bait stuff myself.
I think 'Vice of the Right' would be apt. Not a real news organisation, but followed by disenfranchised youth.

secretary of state rex tillerson acknowledges that russia interfered with the election
Beleaguered Secretary of State Rex Tillerson acknowledged in a closed-door meeting with U.S. diplomats on Tuesday that Russia “interfered in democratic processes here,” something President Trump still describes as “fake news” intended to delegitimize his presidency.

It’s a precarious position for Tillerson to take, even privately. Tillerson’s job is on thin ice, as rumors swirl that he will be swapped out for CIA director Mike Pompeo. Within the department, Tillerson’s support is wafer-thin, as diplomats have come to see his purpose as hollowing out U.S. diplomacy.

Publicly, Tillerson has been a bit more circumspect about the Kremlin question. In April, Tillerson called the “question of Russian interference” in the election something that was “fairly well-established.” In August, Tillerson told his Russian counterpart, Sergey Lavrov, that the election meddling engendered “serious mistrust between our two countries.”

Nor was Tillerson’s acknowledgement about Russian interference in the 2016 election the only departure from Trump’s positions.
....
“He is fucking tone deaf and has zero awareness of how miserable many people are,” the diplomat told The Daily Beast.

“He is so fucking patronizing. He’s talking about making sure everyone can achieve their potential. … he is saying he enjoys the people, getting to know the people, which is a total bag of shit.”
