2017 Trump Presidency Thread

I don't think Trump would go that far with DACA , but if he did, he would say look at this nice thing I did. People say I hate immigrants but really I'm a compassionate person. Let's redouble our efforts against the actual bad guys who are choosing as adults to break our laws. Not the ideal situation across the board for Trump, but he could easily pivot and his base will not call out his hypocrisy.

No one will leave Trump over taxes or health care. That blame gets put on Congress, no questions asked. But if tax reform succeeds, Trump will take the credit like the glutton he is. That’s how it works.

Thank you for explaining it to me. People here are so helpful that way.

You see, I'm not basing my opinion on the MAGA protestors who were all fired up about the Dreamers and the unbuilt wall when Trump said he stated the Dreamers didn't come here because they wanted to do so, and then he talked to the Democrats about a path to citizenship.

I'm also not basing my opinion about tax cuts on gadzillionaire donors telling Trump if this tax legislation doesn't get passed, they will disavow him. It's a good thing rich people don't influence politics.

And I definitely don't base my reaction about health care on the working class who can barely afford the options available to them or for their children who have pre-existing conditions that require life-saving treatment. Or the very strong statements these folks have made about Trump if anything happens to their health or to their child's life-saving treatments.

I'm also not basing anything on all the die-hard working class and rich people I personally know (the former care about jobs and the latter about the stock market and tax cuts). Who would be dumb enough to not look at the demographics nationally Trump is slipping in and just look at 'people they know?'

Thanks again.

Republican tax plan is going to add 1.5 trillion to the deficit over 10 years. Most of the tax saving will be for people who make between 250,000 and 2 million dollars. It's just another give away too corporations and the 1percent. The repeal of the estate tax will benefit the ultra wealthy such as Trump who's kids will save over 500 million dollars if forbes wealth number is accurate. Damn sure doesn't help my family

That seems odd, to propose lowering the contributions. Then again, to contribute means you're still a worker drone, just the salaried kind.

Now that the tax plan is out there, is there a single positive thing in it for working-class families? I don't mean trickle-down bullshit, but substantive?

Or middle class families? I heard they cut the mortgage deduction.

^I agree about the 401k, I just wonder how far up the management chain you go before it becomes something else.

But then, it's a tax break for the corps, too, right? They're writing off the 2.5% for all their rank and file, and not paying payroll on 5%? I don't know, it's been, uh, more than a little while since I worried about that.

Of course. Now middle class families won't face taxes on any inheritance over $5,000,000.

Aren't you relieved?

well. here we are. it's 2 days after halloween so it should be even easier for you to post some examples of people defending people rejoicing that the car plowed into crowds in new york.

care to post a few?

thanks.

The only talking point the liberal media seems to have in response to the attacks is "well look at trump not waiting to get political by discussing immigration when his administration was so against getting political about gun control after Vegas"

The liberal media has provided no actual commentary about limiting extremists access to the us or rights in the us. ...so sin of omission

i think you are agreeing with me that your original claim that "...tomorrow after halloween they will go back to defending people rejoicing that the car plowed into crowds in new york today." was just wrong.

thanks.
