CEPS Well Hung Parliament (CEPS Social/Off Topic)

Wouldn't vape here, even if I'm used to getting beat up. I'm down to two hand-rolled a day, with a lot of gum.

Two a day is pretty damn good. I was on about 3-4 when working but recently have had too much time on my hands and I've crept back up to maybe 12 or so. Ridiculous habit and fucking expensive in Australia these days.

I should really get my ecig going again but, of course, proper nicotine juice is illegal in Australia and its a fair bit of effort importing it. Maybe not as much effort as dying of cancer, who knows? :\

Dying of cancer is a fucking pain in the arse (and a lot of other places) according to some friends of mine who would know :(

Thanks, Mr. Swillow, but the gum is nicotine gum. I think I've barely put a dent in the nicotine addiction (which by weight exceeds the price of cocaine; 4mg nicotine per piece of gum, box of 100 is $40+ at Walgreens).

Alright, well I back ya if you use tasteful tobacco and not bugler (sp?).

Alas, can we find no common ground?

Honestly, Bugler's usually too pricey and I get a fat sack of generic Indian-on-the-Cover tobacco.

Compare Champion to something like Choice and you'll see. But, yeah, the image of Brian haunted me for about half a day, then I assimilated it as something else to worry about another time.

Anyone watched Suburra, as in the series? Its fantastic imo, really binge worthy. Just make sure you watch it in Italian, I was amused and confused by the terrible American overdub at first. I restarted my Tv before understanding wtf was happening.

Nah, I still see ya as better than those saps buying cartons.

$25 for that bag is a little on the high side. I've never been inside a "vape shop" only headshops (which are different from "smokeshops") and can't imagine what the prices of these things are, but I admit that never occurred to me. I guess there's online options; even brand name Nicorette sells a 6mg gum online that's fairly cheap. Of course, the goal, like it's been for a decade, is to quit. So far meth is easier.

But if you haven't been to a gas station in CA lately, a pack of Marlboros is $10. Which means, I like to point out even though no one cares, a pack-a-day name brand habit in California now, is equal in price (this doesn't count as price discussion) to ~ 5 gram/week meth habit, a slight reduction in where I was (and I overpay). Honestly, why go with tobacco when methamphetamine is the same price?

soild HR there, thanks mate :D

Back in the day I used to order cartons of cigarettes online from Eastern Europe for ridiculously cheap, local brands there for crazy low prices or American brands (with text in the respective languages warning about cancer) which sometimes were counterfeits. Some or the counterfeits were fine, except for the menthols which always sucked. This was after they cracked down on Indian reservations doing the same thing and then they cracked down on online cigarette sales in general.

I'm NYC cigarette prices are I believe the highest anywhere in the US, $12 something is the minimum I believe. I don't really pay attention because I have a hook for bootleg cigarettes (from various different states down south) $7/pack $60/carton, I used to get 10 cartons at a time and they'd drop it down to $500 for all. Which is still some profit for them, the cartons are like $30-35 in the source states, sometimes they can do even better on Indian reservations and sketchy shit.

The bootleggers literally fill a van with cartons each trip (primarily Newports—many or the bodegas only have Newports for cheap, some Marlboros and random other stuff, if you know them and want to buy bulk you can make a custom order) and then sell the cartons to bodegas, which always have cigarettes with the correct tax included price posted up top as well as a display case of cigarettes with NY stamps but if you know the guys or ask in the right way them they'll get the bootleg ones from under the counter. If you're a custie they'll sell you the NY stamped ones for twice the price of the bootlegged ones.

There's a certain hierarchy, too, if you know the right store which is the most connected directly to the bootleggers and get in with them you can get the best deals (like the 10 for $500 I mentioned) but you have to gain trust, you have to either live in the neighborhood or just approach them in the right way.

The cigarette smuggling mob at least in uptown Manhattan is mainly run by Arabs. They were also at the forefront or selling synthetic cannabinoid blends when that was a huge goatfuck in the city although that's mostly driven underground. You can get it at the stores too but have to be even more trusted than for bootleg cigarettes. (Some stores even sell real drugs, one not far from where I used to live got busted for selling heroin, I was super pissed I didn't know about it before lol.)

^It's natural and inevitable... I'm the kind of guy who'll get off an airplane in a city I've never been to before, get a taxi, and will always wind up with the only taxi driver who's a pimp or a bookie on the side :) or at least take me to one, or a spot.

Xork et al I'm well enough... I left the city at least for a while and am in the middle of nowhere in Vermont. I did rehab for alcohol, had to do the Librium protocol and everything so's not to catch a seizure but I'm mostly dry now. Looking for a new job, finally got sick of the dysfunctionality of the last one and resigned.

I took a break from BL, too, for somewhat complicated reasons, but it's like my 5th time that I took a break from here; got pinged by some old friends and couldn't resist a post or a few :)

Thank me later :) The Organic Canadian Virginia Flue Cured is amazing. Super strong, smokes amazingly, tastes and smells great, couldn't be happier. And ridiculously cheap.

That's just going full circle and I become my alcoholic grandfather, biting chunks off a whole-leaf twist thing, whatever those are called.

He could usually spit over the porch, but after a pint or two stopped bothering.

(liquor pints, not beer)

As for CA prices, we get paid more too.
Not that it helps with real estate.
