"We’re going to have insurance for everybody...We’re going to have a healthcare that is far less expensive and far better." trump, january 2017

"I am going to take care of everybody. Everybody’s going to be taken care of much better than they’re taken care of now." trump, september 2015

and a thousand other bullshit promises...

:\

Oh man, that's a relief - and another black eye for the president.

The picture at the top of that article is fucking hilarious.

I'm pleased for all my american friends who get another reprieve from this appalling piece of legislation.

It's a disgrace, and these creepy old rich men in trump's administration make me sick, stealing affordable healthcare off the most vulnerable people in society.

I don't know if Trump's insurance quote was more bullshit, any competent Republican president with this Congress would almost certainly have done major damage if not total destruction. Thus we have more insured as a direct result of Trump.

PS: I think that the top tax rates now are the lowest they've ever been, but I'm too lazy/make dinner now to look. And I've never heard a good argument for why money you earn sitting on your ass and watching it increase, should be taxed at half the rate, or not taxed at all, as wages. "It creates more jobs, so this is incentive," the data disagrees, and then why not a tax credit when you actually make more jobs instead.

ETA: MediCal recipient with chronic condition here appreciates your support of the ACA. Taxpayers, at least be happy that my $4/mo metformin will save you all millions when I don't go blind later.

The more I read about Trump the more I learn he tends to always get away with everything. Why is it? How can someone that lies and deceive people as much as he does, get even with impunity? Not only as a president, but during all his life. It's not because he has money. He's not that intelligent either. He reminds me of Lance Armstrong, except that even Lance had gone through tough and quite challenging periods in his life and he was caught afterall.

when did it become so normal to self-righteously delight in our presumed superiority over those who are guilty of nothing more than a difference of opinion?

The only funny thing in the above video is its healine; "Read your history" (...) "Trump supporter OWNS D. Lemon". Funny how a headline like that can alter one's perception, more than the content itself..

What are we supposed to take away from the Bannon interview? That we're glad he doesn't work in the white house anymore?

sfw? seriously. millions of people in puerto rico are out of power and struggling desperately. wtf is the administration doing to help those u.s. citizens in trouble?

related reading: Reading Something in the N.F.L. Ratings? You’re Probably Wrong

This summer, a J.D. Power survey of sports fans reported that 26 percent of fans who said they watched fewer N.F.L. games did so because of protests during the national anthem, according to an ESPN report. But only 12 percent of sports fans said they watched fewer N.F.L. games — meaning only 3 percent of respondents over all said they watched fewer games because of protests — and 27 percent of fans surveyed said they actually watched more games than they had the previous year.
...
The 8 percent drop in ratings between 2015 and 2016 amounted to about 1.4 million fewer people watching each N.F.L. game on average, though ascribing a single motivation to that many people is folly. All of the above reasons, and more, are factors, and it is extraordinarily difficult to understand how important any one of them is on the overall numbers.
(my emphasis)

I don't want to dig, I assume that number takes into account a decline in viewership for broadcast TV generally, and all that? I guess ratings do come in "shares". It's just usually these things are total BS when they wind up in your uncle's email forwards.

And then like your Uncle's email forwards, so what, if true? So fewer people watch NFL because of some anthem protest, thus showing everyone Americans are more clueless and/or racist than before? (Whether you agree or not, it's kind of misprioritized outrage to skip watching over). If you knew half a million people for sure are boycotting over this protest, does that invalidate every point trying to be made? Any point?

the article explains that suggesting "viewership is down because protests" is simplistic and inaccurate.

if people want to stop watching football or burn their merchandise because they see a peaceful kneel in protest as disrespecting america/the flag/the military/what have you then i support and respect their right to do so. i also think a lot of them have a very limited, not to mention ironic, idea of 'freedom'.

Even if the ratings are down the NFL is still the most watched sport in the country. They have the highest rated show on TV in Monday night football. They are not hurting financially in the least. Besides these controversies have a tendency to blow over. It will be old news in a month.

No one is going to stop watching football, most especially Trump's base. The very fact that people watch it at all is proof of that. Boring as hell, yet some of the most widely viewed events in human history...

JARED KUSHNER VOTED AS A WOMAN, ACCORDING TO HIS REGISTRATION

... in addition to not having any previous government experience, the former real estate exec has demonstrated repeated difficulty filling out simple, routine forms correctly. This includes his own voter registration form.

JJTb3zd_d.jpg

According to the records held by the New York State Board of Elections, Jared Corey Kushner is a woman.
----------------
This past July, for instance, CBS reported that Jared had updated a disclosure form necessary to obtain security clearance no fewer than three separate times.
-----------------
How, exactly, Kushner managed to bungle the form multiple times has been the subject of much debate, as well as of his own testimony before the Senate Intelligence Committee. But regardless of the cause, his apparently chronic inability to correctly fill out boxes is troubling coming from the man who's supposed to overhaul the entire United States government.

"Kushner can't even fill out the most basic paperwork without screwing it up, so it's a mystery why anyone thinks he's somehow going to bring peace to the Middle East," says Brad Bainum, a spokesperson for American Bridge, a liberal opposition research hub and the group that first identified Jared's voter slip-up. "Would anyone but the president's son-in-law still have a West Wing job after repeated disclosure errors and a botched a security clearance form?"

Couldn't agree more, loved playing it but can't watch it.

Correct but the league is the most political, and over the last 10 years many ppl have had enough.

I love baseball, they're starting to follow in the NFL's sjw crusade, if they continue I dubt I'll continue to watch, I can bearly watch an ESPN game anymore because it is so fake and phony and overly politically correct.
