2017 Trump Presidency Thread

Ki take back all the bad things I said about John McCain. Obamacare repeal is deader then dead! What a fucking relief.

That was only the "skinny repeal" I wouldn't put anything past these fucking monsters. No way that was going to pass anyways. You don't fuck with old peoples medicare or social security. You play to their fears and make them fuck over their own children while they keep their "entitlements" Most of them will use way more resources than they paid into the system if anyone wants to bring up that they "earned" it.

We've been through this. I don't need to remind you that 500 companies are just paper, the name on the buildings is just a license, not ownership (exception of a few), or his spectacular, unprecedented losses. He didn't catch a break until the TV show. You know this on some level, you have to. Even still, a guy who buys and sells real estate or licenses his name, doesn't have employees beyond a secretary or a driver. He doesn't hire a guy to be his sole accountant, he hires a firm. Find me one of those companies that has 500+ employees that report to him personally. Or an org chart of any kind.

I bet you'd have a hell of a problem with Hillary hiring Chelsea for anything, though. "Theoretically" nepotsm is bad, but in THIS case, it's not the right kind of murky water that was intended to be drained, yeah I got you.

If Obama or Hillary had done almost any one thing that Trump had done there would be armed protests in the street.

Yea what a complete failure. The guys worth billions and just been elected president, he's obviously a failure.

i have a real problem with "brand loyalty" in politics.

this idea ythat trump - or anyone - can do no wrong, and you'll support them to the end, no matter what they do - is fiercely undemocratic.

it's pretty clear that no matter how shambolic trump's "presidency", some of his supporters will insist he's doing a great job.
as an outsider looking in, it's quite alarming.
if you don't hold politicians to account, they trample their constituents.

do you trump fans not think that maybe he's corrupt?

maybe that all his "achievements" are just flashy displays of meaningless bullshit?

that everything he's doing is serving the mega wealthy 1% - and not the majority of working americans?

i cannot for the life of me understand how anything trump does seems acceptable to people - let alone appealing.
seems to me that he's robbing you blind, and you're cheering him on. i honestly don't get it.

Hitler is obviously a failure. Elected chancellor of Germany and worth millions.
Sound logic. Stalin was a big failure too! So SAD.

Oh and Pol Pot! He was a huge failure. Ruled Cambodia, reigned in all those dumb intellectuals and saved the poor peasants from their evil smart overlords. HUGE failure.

Oh wait, comparing Donald Trump to other despots is a carnal sin... PLEASE FORGIVE ME LORD DUMP!

Yeah, the fact that someone couldn't see through his facade(not that it was really even much of one), is one thing, but to go on pretending he's doing great no matter what is an entire new level of ignorance.

Because #stigginit.

Liberals are bad. Liberals are really pissed about what Trump says and does. If liberals are mad about Trump, Trump must be good.

Liberals want to remove your jobs by enacting a bunch of bullshit regulations that kills business, then they want to tax the hell out of your to support some minority lazy woman who has fifteen different kids by fifteen different babydaddies and gets $100k/year in government benefits while smoking crack all day. Then they want to take over your schools and teach your kids that being an atheist gay transgendered person is okay, and they want to make your neighborhoods unsafe by giving thugs too many rights.

Liberals are bad.

If Obama or Hillary had done almost any one thing that Trump had done there would be armed protests in the street.

Poppycock. Why was there no protesting in the streets when Obama signed the 2012 NDAA effectively removing the 4th and 14th amendments, or when Hillary Clinton removed top-secret intelligence from a secure government network and placed them on an unsecured server for 3 months literally giving them to Russia & China (and probably others)?

I bet you'd have a hell of a problem with Hillary hiring Chelsea for anything, though. "Theoretically" nepotism is bad, but in THIS case, it's not the right kind of murky water that was intended to be drained, yeah I got you.
What's the difference with Daddy and Junior Bush holding office? If you're a cunt and you hire your cunt family members then that is a malevolent form of nepotism. If you do a good job and raise good children or have trustworthy family members, then I don't care if they are hired (as long as they can do the job effectively). It's very simple to understand.

maybe that all his "achievements" are just flashy displays of meaningless bullshit?

As opposed to the alternative...?

Liberals are bad.
What "Liberals" don't get is that Trump is the most liberal president we've ever had, and true Liberals no longer align themselves with what is now the "Left" or more specifically the Democratic Party. The DNC has proven time and again that they operate in opposition to true liberal values. If you do not see this then you are a partisan ideologue, and quite frankly a danger to a progressive society. Sometimes we have to admit that we were wrong and that people we admired are actually shit, and also vice versa (instead of invoking Godwin's Law or the Goldwater Rule to convince ourselves that Trump is Orange Nuclear Hitler)

Yea what a complete failure. The guys worth billions and just been elected president, he's obviously a failure.
but but.......Hitler!!!!

Traitor Priebus is now gone...
who appointed him chief of staff? just asking.

There is so much hysterical nonsense...
who's hysterical? labeling comments you don't like as 'hysterical' is akin to labeling criticism you can't handle as an 'attack' or 'fake news'. it's an attempt to distract because you're unable or unwilling to discuss on merit.

alasdair

Because that's not how it went.

So you think Trump, who can do no wrong ever, made a good call hiring his son-in-law? (and daughter and sons?)

As opposed to the alternative...?
At least would have known what departments are part of the executive branch, how laws work, a vague sense of what she's doing.

I'm sure you can find a post I made pointing out he doesn't give a shit about gays or Jesus; we tried to point that out constantly to the right wing. That they felated him anyway shows just how full of shit they are on those issues.

I'm not and never have been a Democrat. It's got nothing to do with party. And if you support Trump, you are not a progressive.

Well said! We can finally agree on something. Have you put that insight to use yet?

Or that she's some bizarro world Wall Street sex trafficker with secret emails hidden everywhere that she shares with the Russians, instead of just meeting with them.

Because US citizens don't deserve health insurance when the president is upset about not gaining enough votes for his absurd bill

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - U.S. President Donald Trump threatened on Saturday to end government payments to health insurers if Congress does not pass a new healthcare bill and goaded them to not abandon their seven-year quest to replace the Obamacare law. In a Twitter message on Saturday, Trump said "if a new HealthCare Bill is not approved quickly, BAILOUTS for Insurance Companies and BAILOUTS for Members of Congress will end very soon!"

Indeed. It seems completely irrational to me. Not only because he's falling and dishonest, most people can see that clearly. You don't need any news to tell you this, you can simply read what he tweets and see his actions. Failure itself is normal but I must agree that such blindness is a total new level of ignorance.

That's him. Judging from his behavior It feels like he's either 8 or 88 years old.

He also just advocated police brutality:

And when you see these towns and when you see these thugs being thrown into the back of a paddy wagon — you just see them thrown in, rough — I said, please don’t be too nice. Like when you guys put somebody in the car and you’re protecting their head, you know, the way you put their hand over? Like, don’t hit their head and they’ve just killed somebody — don’t hit their head. I said, you can take the hand away, okay?
Wonkette

who appointed him chief of staff? just asking.

I have stated repeatedly that there is a lot that I disagree with Trump on. Unlike you who refuse to admit that there are things that you both agree on.

So you think Trump, who can do no wrong ever, made a good call hiring his son-in-law? (and daughter and sons?)
See above.
Sons yes, daughter yes, Kushner no, he has some dubious ties to Zionists.

At least would have known what departments are part of the executive branch, how laws work, a vague sense of what she's doing.
I honestly don't get this reasoning. "At least there can be the appearance of government structure while psychopathic lawyer-politicians continue to slowly send us on a collision course to global destruction!"

I'm sure you can find a post I made pointing out he doesn't give a shit about gays
He doesn't give a flying fuck about whether you are gay or not. Gay people under Trump live in the most liberal country in the world for homosexuals. I'm so sick of hearing about persecution of gay people (outside of Saudi Arabia & Iran).

And if you support Trump, you are not a progressive.
One can support Trump yet disagree with some of his policies. Many people supported Trump simply because he was exposing the Democratic Party and purging their current leadership will strengthen the Left. You may be deluding yourself but Trump is a very liberal guy.

Well said! We can finally agree on something. Have you put that insight to use yet?
Yes I have. I used to support Bernie Sanders and I thought Trump was simply a racist, attention-whoring fool. I was wrong. Bernie turned out to be a fraud, and Trump turned out to be a true American patriot that was the only person in any position to disrupt the psychopathic establishment regime/deep state.

Or that she's some bizarro world Wall Street sex trafficker with secret emails hidden everywhere that she shares with the Russians, instead of just meeting with them.
I'm not sure what you're trying to say here? Are you suggesting that Killary is innocent and that all the accusations against her are just vast right-wing conspiracy theories?

-She was the Wall St candidate. She spoke to bankers telling them that she takes a different stance in private than in public.
-She gave Russians classified information and Special Access Program intelligence. The coverup is still being investigated.
-She did meet with Russians lol. She sold the Russian government 20% of US uranium while Bill was paid $500,000 for a "speech" and she also met with Ukrainians and conspired to influence the election against Trump.

Gay people under Trump live in the most liberal country in the world for homosexuals.
Really?
Do you have any sources to back this up?
Does the USA still have religious gay "conversion therapies"?

How "liberal" is vice-president pence's position on various gay rights issues? Not very, from my understanding.
Frankly, i don't think his perspective would be openly embraced by mainstream conservatives in many (if any) other western democracies.
He's a religious extremist by any other country's standards.
I'm so sick of hearing about persecution of gay people (outside of Saudi Arabia & Iran).
I'm so sick of trump apologists claiming he has some kind of legitimacy or integrity.
Most americans seem to oppose him (according to polls - "fake news" though, right?) and a lot of people think he should be impeached - if not charged.
You might not care about gay rights outside of Saidi Arabia and Iran (odd choices - why those countries?) but that says more about you than whether or not the US "under trump" is "the most liberal country in the world for homosexuals".

I'm so sick of trump apologists claiming he has some kind of legitimacy or integrity.
He became President in a free and fair election (tell me more about Russia to deligitimize him please).
He is your legitimate president.

Most americans seem to oppose him (according to polls - "fake news" though, right?) and a lot of people think he should be impeached - if not charged.
The same polls that gave Killary a 90% chance of winning? Yeah no thanks.
Impeached - for what? Charged - for what?

You might not care about gay rights outside of Saidi Arabia and Iran (odd choices - why those countries?) but that says more about you than whether or not the US "under trump" is "the most liberal country in the world for homosexuals".
Because in Saudi & Iran it is illegal to be gay and if you are caught then you are then dealt with accordingly by the government.
This is real persecution.
A lot of the LGBT community were supporting Killary for some crazy reason (I know it was to stop Trump but this makes zero sense). Clinton was the one receiving millions of $ from regimes like Saudi & Qatar who routinely behead homosexuals, and she was still saying in 2013 that marriage should be between a man and a woman. So they want to stop Trump from doing what exactly? (Trump is not Pence)
