...unhinged psychopaths...
so transgender people are now unhinged psychopaths?

Trannies are 30% more likely to be homeless than heterosexuals...
but pretty much 100% less likely to be homeless if they join the military :)

...they are up to 40% more likely to successfully commit suicide than their heterosexual counterparts
so now you're championing social policy to address both homelessness and greater mental health?

i asked before. no answer. can you please provide some pointers to cases where these terrible, unhinged psychopaths are causing issues in the military today? i mean, if they are as bad as you say they are, it must be a real problem, right?

anyhoo, seems the joint chiefs don't plan to do anything for now: Joint Chiefs Chairman Says Transgender Policy Won't Change Yet

the chairman of the joint chiefs of staff said:
In the meantime, we will continue to treat all of our personnel with respect...

respect. something our president struggles with. the armed forces seem pretty united on this issue.

So if Liquid is reading this, a lot of fun stuff on yer boy Putin's methods of "governance" is in ShimmerFade's link. It is to The Atlantic, (although by keeping that Jeff Goldberg on they show "balance" I guess) but I'm sure you can leave sott.net sometimes, right?

What is wrong with people that use drugs?
Most bluelighters use drugs.

I don't buy into any argument that "criminalises" substance use. The war on drugs has been a massive failure. People will always seek to alter their consciousness through chemical means.

Violent crime rates in the US have been dropping for decades.
Guiliani likes to take credit for "cleaning up" parts of the city - but he was also a massive contributor to the prison industrial complex - you know, the system that means the USA has more prisoners than any country in the history of mankind.

Gentrification projects are great - if you are in the minority that has the financial and social capital to not be displaced or disadvantaged by them; a very small minroty of people.

So true!

See "13th amendment", the documentary and you'll see with you own eyes and feel what's really going on with the prisons and prisoners in US. The whole scheme - sort of behind the scenes actual info, but at this time with actual right republicans or extremists on tape admitting their wrongdoing and discrimination which was quite impressive to see.

It goes back all the way when the Government started to get money and power by taking away the right to vote from citizens they don't want to vote.

Absolutely!

Can we talk about the campaign promises that Trump made that he has broken since gaining office? I'm looking for some sort of master list as this has to be being tracked somewhere. In lieu of this, what are some campaign promises that he made that he has now either reneged on or appears to be in the process of reneging on?

again you know what i am thinking. bravo!

Was I wrong? Not in the slightest - you words plainly give you away. There is nothing wrong with being an irrational Trump-hater locked in an echo chamber - just own it, dude.

Funny how my entire post was ignored by everyone and instead I get an attempted character assassination and deflection to further investigate unrelated matters or conspiracy theories:

So if Liquid is reading this - check out this deflecting bullshit meant to further demonize the Russian state and in some convoluted way imply Trump's guilt with supporting dictators.

How Russiagate Met the Magnitsky Myth

Why doesn't that story from the Atlantic go into the history of Natalia Veselnitskaya? Might turn up her direct links to the Democratic Party?

This whole thread is full of sad people, delusional partisans and liars. When you begin to care more about the truth than hating Trump you will start to talk some sense. Otherwise, enjoy your circle jerk.

The truth is no one enjoys a circle jerk, cause they're awkward and you could be having sex instead.

Wait that erased it: "I don't know, Liquid, where does Consortium News get its bit on her?"

come on. be a person.

i disagree with a lot of things you say. i don't know, but i imagine that you and i probably wouldn't get on very well in real life. but i could be wrong.

i show you the common courtesy of assuming that you mean what you say and say what you mean. . don't put words in your mouth and i have absolutely know way of knowing what you are thinking or feeling.

i invite you to show me the same common courtesy? please.

Sens. Lisa Murkowski (Alaska), Susan (Maine) and John McCain (Arizona) just saved the Republican Party from doing something desperate and cruel to the American people by voting against the "skinny repeal".

Senator Mitch McConnell seems to have admitted defeat for the various Republican proposals to repeal and possibly replace the Affordable Care Act. He reluctantly stated that it is time to craft a bipartisan healthcare proposal.

Sens. Murkowski and Collins held fast multiple times in decisive votes despite Trump calling both of them out by name. Both Sens., particularly Senator Collins, have been strong voices against proposals that would have inflicted great hardship on the people of their respective States, which they truly represented in these wee hours.

Senator John McCain just became a true maverick and hero (again) in the face of being diagnosed with an aggressive brain cancer. He came back to the Senate to make an important stand for the American people. Say what you want about his own enviable access to care, his vote is one of just three that saved millions of people from losing their health insurance. It would have been perfectly understandable if McCain had stayed in the hospital and been with his family at such a difficult time.

His seniority and bravery will serve to absorb the wrath of certain factions of the Republican Party and Trump for this vote. His "no" will provide some cover to Sens. Murkowski and Collins, who undoubtedly would have faced the blame and fury of failure to repeal.

The most important effect of their votes is to prevent irreparable damage to the American people and tens of thousands of deaths each year. The "skinny repeal" would also have destabilized insurance markets which would ripple through the economy, caused health insurance premiums to increase rapidly as well as forcing rapid and tremendously detrimental changes to the healthcare system to be implemented.

However, only three Republican Senators averted these catastrophic changes. Something to remember.

Magnitsky Myth

You do realize the video they are talking about in that article is verifiable Russian propaganda financed by the Kremlin right?

I'm glad reasonable people understand that the congressmen with access to classified information which led to Magnitsky Act passing in 2012 (passed in the House 365-43 and the Senate 92-4), and the subsequent Global Magnitsky Human Rights Accountability Act passing in 2015/16 (passed with unanimous consent by both the House and Senate) are more trustworthy than some zealot pushing Russian propaganda.

LiquidMethod, would you like to share any more Russian propaganda with us? It helps those of us not part of the extreme right attempt to understand which angles were used to brainwash a substantial minority in the US.

Luckily, said minority is shrinking by the day as more people realize how horribly wrong they were, and how Trump has made false promises to every American time and again. Props to those who have had the courage to admit to being mistaken.

The Russian tactics involved were relatively brilliant, but their long term strategy is failing miserably by not taking into account just how unstable Trump is. 'You reap what you sow' is perfectly apt for the situation Russia is finding itself in now. Russia has become a pariah, and this won't change under the status quo. Unfortunately for all of us, the relations reset button has been pushed so many times that it has fallen off.

The Democratic Senators all voted against it. It is true these three stand out from the other Republicans, but what does that say about the Republican party in general?

The Democrats aren't perfect, but at least not a single one condones sentencing millions of Americans to death, and millions more to living in fear.

That only three Republican Senators voted against it says the Republican Party is completely messed up. If I wasn't clear about that, hopefully that ends here.

Excellent point about mentioning the Democrats. Yes, I'm incredibly happy that the Dems are voting together, although they have ideological differences. I agree 100% that they are committed now, as they were when they passed the Affordable Care Act (although imperfect), to ensure that coverage is expanded rather than taken away in such an inhuman manner.

Also, the link you posted from the Atlantic was a tragic but excellent read.

Best, CD

Sure mate, no problem.
But if I ask you questions and you don't answer them, then all I can really do is assume the answer.
And if you make outlandish comments then I may ask you to substantiate them.

absolutely. i'd expect no less. i'd love to see an example of an outlandish comment.

Next you'll be calling me a Russian agent and saying that you have incontrovertible proof that Russia hacked the DNC.
why criticise people for something they haven't even done? you got bent out off shape because apparently we haven't given trump and his team enough time.

yet here you are doing exactly the same - not "waiting to pass judgement". why the double standard? so why not save your criticism for something that's actually happened?

:\
