Decided we should have a place to keep all the Trump news, so we don't make half a dozen threads about the current, news-worthy administration.
(my emphasis)A federal appeals court panel has maintained the freeze on President Donald Trump’s controversial immigration order, meaning previously barred refugees and citizens from seven Muslim-majority countries can continue entering the United States.
In a unanimous, 29-page opinion, three judges with the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 9th Circuit flatly rejected the government’s argument that the suspension of the order should be lifted immediately for national security reasons and forcefully asserted their ability to serve as a check on the president’s power.
“The Government does not merely argue that courts owe substantial deference to the immigration and national security policy determinations of the political branches — an uncontroversial principle that is well-grounded in our jurisprudence,” the opinion says. “Instead, the Government has taken the position that the President’s decisions about immigration policy, particularly when motivated by national security concerns, are unreviewable, even if those actions potentially contravene constitutional rights and protections. … There is no precedent to support this claimed unreviewability, which runs contrary to the fundamental structure of our constitutional democracy.”
you mean gorsuch? the nominee who denounces trump's attacks on the judiciary and told sen. richard blumenthal that trump's criticism was disheartening and demoralizing to independent federal courts.I'm just hoping they go with the nuclear option to approve gorsich.
you talk so much about logic and lack of emotion but you rarely display it.Overrule the 9ths unconstitutional, activist ruling. The 9th is has 83% of its rulings overturned for a reason.
(my emphasis)In short, social media claims that 80 percent of cases decided by the Ninth Circuit were overturned were flat out false; more than 99 percent of that circuit’s decisions stood and the Supreme Court reviewed a scant 0.106 percent of circuit court cases each year. Although figures from 2010 maintained the “Ninth Circuit [had] the second highest reversal rate at 80 [percent],” the “highest” was the Federal Circuit court’s median of 83 percent. However, left out of both the rumors and the blog post was the fact that the average rate of accepted cases ruled upon differently by the Supreme Court than a lower circuit court was over 68 percent across all courts. So of less than one percent of all cases reviewed by the Supreme Court, 68 percent of decisions across all circuits were overturned. Eighty percent of decisions by the Ninth Circuit were overturned when escalated to the Supreme Court, but the numbers were misleading taken out of context.
it's like we have a 5 year old for a president.

it may be fake which is exactly why i said it was unconfirmed.Unconfirmed reports = msm = fake news
indeed.I say it's their choice.
Bwhahahahahahhaha if you think our employment is full and in a good place you are a pure partisan. How did a outlier like trump get elected under such a great democratic candidate?^ ok.
u.s. unemployment is currently at 4.8%.
what is your estimate of where it will be in november 2020?
alasdair
I 100% agree with this. It's a real damn bummer. Predictions of a Bernie/Trump election showed high favorability of Bernie. Plus he's all about the second amendment for you "I vote based on gun rights" folks. Such a darn shame...People wanted to elect a socialist in the primaries ffs, and likely would have if the dnc had not rigged it for her.
where the fuck did i say that. answer? nowhere.Bwhahahahahahhaha if you think our employment is full and in a good place...
I would say somewhere between 2.5-3%^ ok.
