Ok, there's not a ton of information out there on this substance so I figured that I would put together my experience with it as it's a very particular substance with unique properties and definite recreational potential. Little information for context of the situation, I'm a 30ish y/o 6' 200 lb male with around 5 years of regular opiate use, everything from t3s to a very hefty daily IV hydromorphone habit. Anyway, it's been over three years since I went through rehab and have managed to keep my drug use in check. Lately most usage has been kratom capsules and the occasional benzo. Anyway, on to Tianeptine, a TCAD with SSRE properties and Mu receptor agonist, now obviously it was the Mu activity that I was most interested it. I ordered a 5 gram tub of Tianeptine Sodium 99% powder from a reputable nootropics supplier. After reading what little information I could find on it, mostly being crazy Russian reefer madness type news regarding the dangers of IV Coaxil, I decided I'd give it a little assessment of my own. For reference, I was dosing with a 10mg spoon that came with another nootropic powder, so while it may have not been a 1/1 measurement but i'm fairly confident that it was close enough for a dosage tool (perhaps 1mg +/-) for something of this strength. I started out with a 10mg sublingual dosage, just to verify I wouldn't have an allergic reaction when I dosed up. I then took a 50mg dosage also sublingual about two hours later, again just a precautionary move. Neither of which produced a change in consciousness in the slightest (although this is probably alone the lines of what someone would use for a therapeutic dosage, but I didn't take it long enough to assess its' AD properties). So the next day, I decided I would give IV a whirl, I started with a small dose of 40 mg, to assess my body's reaction to it and make sure there was no bad juju. This time there was a very slight hint of sedation. Deciding I wanted to get a taste of it with fresh eyes so to speak... I waiting until the following morning to take a real stab at it. Anyway, from what I had gathered this substance become rather viscous at large substance to solution ratios, and I'd heard that 90-100 mg was a good starting point. So I put 100 mg in 100 units of water and mixed it, adding a very slight amount of heat to keep it as fluid as possible, and upon administration definitely felt a slight tingly feeling, and immediately afterward did another 100mg. At this point there was marked sedation and euphoria, it has very short legs though, so I decided I would dose another 200 mg orally. And this set in a nice relaxing state for the next 4 to 5 hours. Certainly a nice state of being for something that legally can be cheap and easily had in the US (those two typically are mutually exclusive in my experience). Similar experiences have been had over the last week, peaking dosages of 300mg IV, and oral, with probably a gram used peak in one day, with going through about 3/4s of the 5 gram tub. So here's my advice regarding the substance, it definitely has some ups and some downs. A good 250-300 mg shot can definitely produce a very strong euphoric rush, not unlike, but not entirely similar to a oxy/hydromorphone type feeling. On the down side, it has very short legs which for the typical opiate user can lead to extreme amounts of dosing for someone in active addiction. Now for the next item of concern, this substance becomes extremely thick if it's used in more than a 90-100 mg per 100 unit s of water, so if you're looking to get a rush from it, I would seriously consider a 300 unit barrel and wouldn't use more than 250mgs in one injection (and that's for people experienced with this particular substance). And make sure you go slow when injecting, not just for the sake of a miss (FYI: this shit burns like wildfire, you have been warned) but for the sake of your veins, as this stuff is fairly caustic probably owning to its sodium base. I would also stay away from any small veins, as it would probably be best practice to get this mixed in with blood as much as possible upon injection to prevent clotting, vein damage and pain. As mentioned, a little bit heat does help break the substance down and keep the fluid a little less viscous, just make sure you're not shooting up just short of boiling water /notfun/ (my person preference was to heat the water prior to mixing in the power). I would seriously advise that only seasoned IV users even think about attempting this, it's not a forgiving substance if you start to miss, but on that note, although I had a few times I did miss a few cc's worth of solution, but I don't have any "lumps" left at the site, like is some peoples experience. All and all, after probably around 20 shots, I don't have any particular evidence of damage beyond any of my previous IV usage. Veins are a little sensitive and swollen, but no more so than a MA bender would cause, I think a lot of that damage is probably mechanical because of the nature of the thicker fluid, sometimes it's hard to register properly. I probably won't buy another tub of this for a few months, as the abuse potential is certainly there. So in short, I'm not advocating anyone use this in a recreational manor, or especially IV use of it, but as people such as myself are always going to experiment I thought it would be good to put some more information out there. Taken orally, this would probably be a very good tool in the usage of getting off of stronger opiates, although, I definitely wouldn't recommend that someone who's actively using attempt to substitute this for your DOC, the duration is simply not there to make that practical, although I've hear the free acid form of this stuff has a way longer half-life, although it's not water soluble (and i'm not going to lie and say I didn't fully intent to attempt IV this stuff from the get go). Honestly, next time I order some of this, i'll probably get 1g of sodium, and 5g of the FAA.
And so far I haven't noticed any sort of physical withdraws, took a break after 3 days, and aside from a bit of craving. definitely didn't manifest into any sort of physical discomfort. And i'm one of those people that can get dope sick after just using a few Roxys for 2 days. So that's a good thing.
For the sake of Harm Reduction, i'm not giving you recommended dosages, as everyone has vastly different metabolisms and tolerances to every chemical. I'm just looking to give you guys an idea of my personal experiences. People if you're going to experiment with this or any other chemical, start slow, dose low and work your way up.
*Also, as noted in another thread here on BL, and as should be pretty obvious for any MOR agonist, there is a possibility of respiratory failure with these drugs, especially if you combine any other CNS with them. *
Always do an allergy test when you get a new batch, and treat these things with respect! Most importantly though, have fun!
