Was waiting for someone else to post this, but I guess that wouldn't go along with the agenda of our Яepublican comrades and miscellaneous nazi sympathizers. The Russians were actively enabled by the GOP.

to be fair none of us know what the cia is claiming but seriously I must be missing something. How did the Soviets make Hillary an awful candidate that lost the election. Everyone I know (locally anyway) voted for the Trampster and none of them report the Soviets made them do it. None of my circle save for my father pays attention to much of the news or knows what wikileaks is.
 
Could you at least try to stay on topic? This is one thing we have knowledge of. Considering the Russian's expertise at hybrid warfare I would say this is a threat which should be taken seriously.

They also hacked the GOP, but kept the data. Now they can blackmail the Яepublicans at will. Let's not forget Rex Tillerson (Exxon CEO, 50 billion deal is in jeopardy because of sanctions) is looking likely as SoS. Keep on talking about Clinton, and ignoring the present. How long will you hogs wallow in the past not noticing you are about to get butchered?

There were two awful candidates this election cycle.

The theory is that the Russians highlighted one through various attacks and did not go after the other.

We've all seen what did leak out about Trump. God only knows what a major email leak would have done to him.
 
This report is brought to you by the same people who told us taht Saddam had WMDs. I thougth about posting it, but I didn't think anybody was taking it seriously. It's just another conspiracy theory. At first, only HRC was blaming the Russians but, this time, sadly, it is being reported by the MSM without the huge grain of salt it deserves.

Also, why would the GOP have blocked release of this knowledge to the public if the story is without substance?

I hope time and further investigation will provide more clarity.
 
You have a better one? Almost all western intelligence is shared to some extent with the CIA. Pretty sure these guys have my interest more in mind than the president elect at least. The GOP has clearly put party before country. Just like they will put corporation before citizen.
 
People stopped blaming the Russians when Senator MacCarthy disgraced himself in the 1950s. This is nothing more than a Red Scare tactic being resurrected. You guys had the Stasi, which were very real, so maybe you see it differently. But even the Russians were scared of the STasi.

Also, the CIA routinely engages in commercial and economic espionage for American interests which makes them arguably fascist or corporatist in that aspect.

So, why didn't Russia fix the primaries and get Sanders elected? He is a socialist and more likely to cooperate with Russia than Trump who is much more individualistic.

The emails being released by wikileaks, on top of knowing that Russians admitted they were watching Trump's campaign literally very close as in the same places.
Couldn't that be a small part of a Russian strategy to weaken the opponent? Like they are so used to do. The subject was brought up a few times before the election day.

I don't really know, I did follow through his and Hillary's campaign from the beginning everyday.
Putin himself has said he hasn't ever hacked in a national level. What the hell does that mean?
Aren't the elections decided by the states, meaning not so broadly as national?

I have this feeling that in 20 or 30 years from now we'll be watching movies based on real facts that will show that clearly there were interferences.

This is only guesses I admit, however, not only by me after all the results of this election were an astonishing surprise to the entire world, not to mention to the media that got it wrong for 19 months. All of them, from different countries too (??). It maybe be nothing but I wouldn't be surprised if we find out more about it some shred of proof maybe, in years to come. IMO

Sanders is a social democrat, not a socialist. Anyways, Russia is an oligarchy which uses nationalism and propaganda in order to appease the masses that get screwed more by their own government than by anyone else.

In the same way as the CIA being wrong about WMD's in Iraq doesn't make the story false, the GOP trying to block it doesn't make it true either.

It seems obvious why they would want to block it, the story undermines the legitimacy of the election which they won, even if the stories false, in politics the truthfulness of a claim matters a lot less than that the claim was made. It's well known in politics and advertising that if you say something enough times, people tend to believe it regardless of what real evidence there is.

I'm not saying the story is true or not, I don't know, I don't enormously care either. Even if it's true, that again doesn't mean they successfully accomplished anything to that aim. What I'm saying is that saying things like "Why would they block it if it's not true" or "the cia got this other thing wrong", etc, etc doesn't itself prove anything about the legitimacy of the claim one way or the other.
 
Russia doing this kind of thing (mostly through the internets) is not really a secret.

I disagree with your comment about thye CIA. The CIA is not a reliable source of information when it comes to politically sensitive topics. Like their former Soviet counterparts, they will say anything to please those in power. The fact that they claimed that there were WMDs completely undermines their credibility. They have been known to do this (lie for political reasons) since they were created. On the flip side, it's hard to believe that an agency with nearly infinite black budget funding and some of the smartest and most educated sell-outs in America could get something like WMDs wrong. Either way, they are not to be trusted with anything beyond their reporting of world wide GDP, population, per capita income, etc.
