I fucking miss living in Australia. Lived in Perth for a year, and Melbs for 5 months. Cheap weed in Melbourne if I remember correctly. Did you get out to any of the Perth doofs? Had a great time at those

Yeah, weed (and everything else) seems to be cheaper in melbourne.
Hell yeah, i went to some doofs back in WA. It's a pretty crazy scene. That crew always had the best drugs too, by far.

Ahhh nice. I was there from 2014-16 man, left April this year. Yeah they really put some effort in, had some sick weekends at them. Can you remember meeting an italian chick called Eleonora? She was a mate of mine, used to go to them all pretty much.
And yeah, used to get some really good acid from them guys
I haven't been to a doof for a few years, but have mates that are deeply into that scene.
There is at least one (i don't pretend to know or care about doof scene politics!) group that puts on really amazing events - but they've not done many in recent years).
It's been a while since i mixed with that circle - i was always more on the "city" side of perth vs fremantle - which puts me at odds with much of the hippie/doof culture, which is really freo-centric...even when i lived in fremantle, oddly.
I think freo folks don't want to be included as a part of Perth, but as a separate town.
Which it kinda is, but still - there is a weird social divide there that makes no particular geographic sense
I'm more involved with the rock'n'roll side of things, which is kind of a different world - but i love and enjoy both, just maybe for different reasons.
Always liked having friends with long associations with bush doof culture - they always would let me know which ones were worth coming to (as well as directions on the day, of course!) - but also yeah - when i was going to doofs, strong acid, dmt, the occasional 2C-x type RCs - and often some real nice weed were all floating around.
but i'm told that meth has become somewhat common in that crowd - which i hadn't ever noticed back in the day...but having said that, i was always tripping very hard - so who knows? Meth seemed taboo and something like the antithesis to the doof 'vibe' - but whatever blows yer hair back!
It does change the overall atmosphere though.
Hopefully now that MDMA is available in australia again, maybe all the people that switched to meth during the e drought of a few years back will return to MDMA?
I'm out of touch with all that scene these days, so that's simply a guess - or a hope.

Got a nice meal at some new asian/japanese street food restaurant, gunna be good! their general tso's chicken is amazing! then staying 2 nights at a fancy hotel
stoned as fuck at the mo, combo of weed n gear has me feeling great, plus not gunna have to pay for a single thing! only downside is i'm actually old now lol

Wow, I never really picked up on the hippie vibe of Freo. Truth be told whilst I visited it umpteen times I was never really that keen on the place. Much preferred the city, although thats were my mates were. Had an apartment in West Perth for the most part.
I also was pretty surprised at the amount of meth at doofs. Like you say its not really in keeping with the doof culture, but hey... Folks like to get off their rocker lol. Plenty of md though, the banana pills were doing the rounds when i was there. And had my first dmt trip there :D. The scene seemed so much more organised and community based than here in england, over here its plant a soundsystem in, a marquee, and a fire and your good. The psychedelic hangings, and structures were brilliant.
Aye a shame, Perth holds the best memories for me met so many great people, gorgeous weather , it was the best year of my life. Blighty doesn't compare!
