My understanding is that heroin may be cut with acetaminophen, caffeine, malitol, diazepam, methaqualone, phenobarbital, and fentanyl. I have read that fentanyl is up to "100 times more potent" than heroin. If that is the case adding 0.01 mg to 1 mg of heroin would double the mixtures potency.

Is there data on the ratio of heroin:cut substance for different substances sampled from urban areas. In particular is there data on how many parts heroin:fentanyl exist in heroin cut with fentanyl? or is there data on how many parts heroin:fentanyl exist in heroin that is likely to lead to lethal overdoses?

A lot depends on the kind of heroin too. i.e. tar heroin has differing cuts; including active cuts like diphenhydramine, instant coffee (instead of straight white powder caffeine) etc.

I doubt methaqualone is a common cut any longer, at least outside places like South Africa

No, the DEA specifically prevents publication of quantitative drug analysis results, and even if there was it will not tell you what *your* particular heroin has.

Fentanyl is approx. 80 times more potent than morphine when IV'd, so "only" about 40x stronger than heroin by weight. However, opiate tolerance means that for some people a lethal dose will be as low as 3000 ug, and for other seasoned users it can be in the tens or even hundreds of milligrams. And there's no way to say for certain what the LD50 will be ahead of time. Just keep the equivalency of 1mg of fent = 80mg morphine handy and you should be OK.

Get it professionally tested with GCMS or LCMS if you need to know exact percentages. Otherwise this falls far enough within the realm of "substance ID" that I am gonna close it. No internet resource can tell you the purity or consistency of your drugs safely.
