I like looking at the reptile house here because the animals generally have enough room, and they always seem active and healthy when I go.

No, I have yet to try DOC psy. I have 250mg I've been sitting on, untouched.

Im not sure how I feel about zoos. Ornamental animals make me sad. On the other hand, I love animals and enjoy watching them. But I'd hate to be in a cage. :\

I feel that way about zoos as well but for some reason aquariums are a different breed to me until you get to the aquatic mammals.

^I suppose that many aquarium fish still get a decent existence given the needs we imagine for them. Probably better than being in the polluted oceans.

But yeah, I think marine mammals in captivity is really wrong. You could extend that to most animals with a really large and varied natural range. I remember seeing a video of a frustrated polar bear in a Chinese zoo banging its head against a wall, over and over. Just purposeless. I could almost fucking relate. :\

Anyway. There's certainly worse things than zoo's but bad zoo's are fucked...

I'd say it highly depends on the animal and the space it gets and the condition of the habitat. Fish can easily start showing stereotypy like mammals can, or other behavior that may not be that clear a sign to the layman but is a sign to the caretakers - assuming that the zookeepers care of course. I guess if an animal is born in the zoo and there is nothing about the behavior telling us it can't handle its instinctual urges in captivity then I don't know that it's necessarily worse than the average pet. Sure some of those are domesticated, but don't usually have a habitat.

I'd keep like a couple partridges if I had a yard.. :D

^I commend you on the intriguing selection of bird there solipsis. What makes you choose the partridge?

I met a very sad rabbit once that lived in a very small box. That is all it did ever. Well, sometimes it hid in the back of its tiny box when terrifying god-human came and made noise and scared it and left food behind.

ok then swilow :D

Thank-you. If you consider changing it some time in the future, please ensure you ask me first then too, okay?

:D

To my mind, there is really nothing good about me changing my name from willow11 to swilow. Swilow is quite an ugly word. I have no idea why I chose it, I really don't, it was probably 8 or 9 years ago. I wish someone had talked me out of it. What a waste of a name change! But I changed it back to willow11 and then I changed it back to swilow.

I think I'm now trapped as swilow.

My dad used to have chickens in his yard, but I thought those could be pretty psycho - that look in their eyes!! and the jerky movement.. creeps me out - other than that they were cozy, but I also knew partridges that walked around in the hortus botanicus in a city I used to live in, some unusual primarily green colored species just strolling and running through a huge tropical greenhouse. Just put a smile on my face... I think quails are funny too.. :)

I think most other animals are enormous assholes. I don't like meat, but I eat it on principle. (NL reference)

Got to run though, appointment and work..

Swilow is more swirly, xammy is nice, it's all good guys. Don't really remember if I ever so slightly edited my name here once.

@mobile waiting on train :)

Possibly yeah with a y.. Erroneous as in I wouldve picked it cause this one was taken.. Then not anymore?

Went mushroom hunting yesterday but its not quite boletes time yet. Went to woods near the tri land border where last year and or the one before there was a cornucopia of a few kinds of boletes..

Go for it xammy, I like talking to myself :D

I'll be looking for some pointy caps this week myself, Solipsis, heard they can be pretty potent. Will be a fun trip at least. Will be hunting with someone who is specializing in mycology so no worries on the ID-ing front.

Right before waking up I was actually picking cubensis in the house I grew up in's back yard.... Weird that I wake up, remember doing so when I can't remember ever having dreamt of that, and then get on here to talk of such things.

Can you describe your visuals? I got visuals too, but not what I remember the first few times I did 'cid.
There was nothing that I could examine and physically draw with a pen that wasn't that much different from my regular vision, albeit distorted and mostly mental.

Mixing MXE or a disso with psychedelics doesn't really change the visuals... MXE in particular almost seems to hide its effects, it just makes the trip much more engrossing, more visual, and more comfortable. Same visuals, just much stronger.

Wow Xork your town is fucking beautiful. Thanks for the awesome weekend - we really had a great time we wont soon forget, and Id love to cross paths again sooner than later. What a great healthy energy your community has created, the place really is one of a kind!

I was really glad to see you have such a good experience here. I really enjoyed meeting you and spending some time hanging out (and jamming). My friends thought you guys were really cool too, everyone agreed. Too bad we didn't order pizza like 30 minutes sooner, we could have had something authentically Asheville, but on the other hand the Dominos was pretty good. :D Oh, and tell your girl that I was really impressed with her embroidery, it was amazing.

The third eye is a charm, not to be confused with the third attempt at quitting opiates for good. It was really rocky being in Asheville with only 100g of kratom on hand, knowing i would run out right around when i would be leaving and considering the pending promotion to schedule 1.

Luckily i was able to keep my mind filled with new experiences enough to get away with it. Can't wait to be non-dependent on it again soon. I feel your dilemma, it's no more than a ridiculous hassle. And to think that the politicians think I'm getting high everyday. "High" is the absolute last word I'd use for it.

Good luck man, you can do it, I really believe that. :)

Guess who's still alive?

Nice, hey man!

That's awesome man, I know how much you've been wanting that. :) Just be chill, let things happen, if you apply pressure right at first it will be a turnoff.

Also a lot less predators to worry about, so they're kinda like the spoiled kids of their species in a way.

That reminds me of a video I saw that was posted/uploaded by sea world where they were observing their captive porpoises, or maybe they were bottle noses, I can't recall exactly at this point.. Most likely they both do this because I know for sure large whales have been spotted doing huge halos in nature.. But this video was based on how incredible it was that these dolphins were blowing air rings under water and could break off the air ring that was tumbling underwater into a bunch more under water air rings.. They were justifying this newfound discovery as if the dolphins were having fun and enjoying doing this.. But I couldn't help but think these were essential prison inmates doing the equivalent of smoking cigarettes and blowing rings out of boredom because there's nothing better to do in prison other than master the craft of blowing smoke O's.. It wasn't as impressive as it was sad for me to see. But you know, Seaworlds gotta capitalize on every little thing so you'll never find sea world representatives highlighting something an aquatic mammal or even fish does as an action of boredom in confinement, instead it's because they're so smart and must WANT to entertain the lame humans... I'm sure.. *rolls eyes*

Here's the video actually.. I took the time to track it down.. Would love your opinion on it swil, I really don't feel like I'm off the mark here, these are prison inmates blowing smoke rings out of boredom to kill the time...

And this is the city I live in these days.. Helplessly ignorant to the facts tourists pour into these places and pump 100's of thousands of USD into these places all day everyday never knowing what is really happening to these animals mentally most likely..

Sea World is in a league of it's own. At zoos they generally try and recreate the animal's natural environment (the smaller the creature, the better I've noticed) whereas at Sea World they just have em in these big empty bowls where people can watch them 24/7. Creatures that large need space to roam... Really most any mammal does.

I have a pet guinea pig and I keep him in a 2'x4' elevated cage that seems to be the best quality I can provide for him, and he's easily one of the healthiest piggies I've seen (his vet said as such too). It's important for animals to have space to run at full sprint if they so desire. He does laps in his cage sometimes, other times I let him roam the kitchen and he seems to get a big kick out of it, hopping in excitement and following me around. It saddens me when I meet people who have a pet rodent and keep them in this tiny 1'x2' cage. It extends their lifespan if they have proper space to exercise and play, not to mention makes them more receptive of their owners. People are also very ignorant of diets... I keep my guinea pig on a strictly formulated diet of 70% timothy hay, 20% homogeneous and vitamin fortified piggy chow, and 10% fresh fruits/veggies, and I can really see the difference in him from a poorly dieted piggy.

Also, I have no regrets for my name change. I hated being 240sxLover :p

Hey hey brotha man, I did indeed feel your presence. Soon enough we'll meet without the 1 degree of separation. And when that happens I will run my fingers through your chest hair while we laugh and joke and love on one another. Is that a weird thing to say to your online hetero homeboy? I dont think so <3

Crashing it was good to meet you, next time more drugs need to be consumed IMHO. Until then lets do drugs on our own and post about it here ;)
