Hi everyone,

I'm a Western-European white guy in his mid-twenties who loves history, politics, traveling and (ofc) drugs.

History: I studied history at uni, although it wasn't a straight path to a job I would never say that I regret it. I consider history another way of traveling, not through space but through time. I'm fascinated by mankind everywhere and at any given time.

Politics
: I'm very interested in bringing positive changes to society. In my homecountry I have no idea who to vote for, in the US it would be democrat for sure. I'm leftwing in the way that I want an equal playing field as much as possible and I'm pretty progressive and liberal. But I'm also no fan of big government. One of my main issues is drug policy, I'm a huge proponent of decriminalizing all drugs, nobody should be punished for putting something in his or her body and I'm all for legalizing cannabis and molly. Still a bit on the fence regarding cocaine and heroin. The problem is that when you only decriminalize those drugs without providing a legal way to get them, you're just creating a legal market for criminal gangs so I think they should be legal as well. The problem is that I'm not sure if the majority of people can handle these drugs like I think they can handle the rest of them.

Traveling: as I said I love traveling although my job and financial status don't allow me to do it as much as I would like to. But I can't complain, I'm visiting the US this november during the presidential election, I'll be in Miami.

Drugs
:

I started smoking cannabis when I was about 15 years old but was only a sporadic toker until my twenties. Now I smoke MJ almost daily but I'm trying to ease down a bit. I have a feeling it's damaging my concentration, memory and other cognitive skills. I was a heavy drinker in university but eased down a lot since then. I try to only drink during weekends.

So far for the good boy drugs. The bad boy drugs I'm into are LSD, shrooms, Molly and cocaine. I will try N2O pretty soon and have tried a lot of other things but never: heroin, crystal meth or crack. I'm also planning on keeping it that way, my cocaine problem (although not that bad in comparison to some of the guys I've met) is big enough as it is.

I can limit my cocaine use to the weekend but a while ago it was every weekend for half a year and I started using in the middle of the week as well. A friend of my talked me into quitting for at least a month and I did. Last weekend I did it again but this weekend will be strictly MJ and alcohol.

So, that's everything for now. I hope to exchange a lot of information with you guys in the time to come. See ya!

Hey welcome to Bluelight :)

The problem is that I'm not sure if the majority of people can handle these drugs (heroin and cocaine) like I think they can handle the rest of them.

Of course the problem is complicated, but my opinion on this is that legalizing heroin and cocaine wouldn't drive many people that don't already use to try them.
What I mean is, if someone tries heroin or cocaine he likely doesn't do it because they're legal, he would probably try them even if they were illegal.
Maybe if someone already has the idea of trying them, these drugs becoming legal would be the "switch" that makes them try... but I also think that someone who already has this idea will eventually come around trying, illegal or not.
Also most people who consider these drugs bad and dangerous would keep considering them as such even if they were legal, and if these people changed their mind it wouldn't be because the drugs became legal, or at least not entirely (in my opinon).

For example, for a long time I never even considered trying heroin, i thought it was a really bad drug, but as time went on and I tried more and more drugs, suddenly heroin didn't look so bad and I tried it.
Same thing with intravenous use of H, for the first 2+ years I strictly smoked it on foil and despised the idea of injecting it, but then I decided to the IV route suddenly it wasn't such a big deal and now it's normal for me.

Still, heroin and cocaine ARE dangerous drugs, and can ruin your life.
I'm just saying that in my opinion making them legal wouldn't suddenly make people try them, and also that if someone wants to try heroin or cocaine he's gonna try them wether they're legal or not so we may as well make them legal so they're safer to use.
And btw, you not wanting to try heroin, meth etc. is a good thing and I hope you don't change idea (take it from a regular, but not daily, heroin user).

I'm also aware that this is a very complicated matter and I might be dead wrong.
Also I'm still not entirely sure about legalizing every drug, there are many implications and aspects that need to be considered.
