Anyone know any laid back sober living homes in San Diego that are laid back as far as curfew?

This doesnt really answer your question, but please be careful about choosing a sober living. They are all unregulated and there are many shit holes out there. Especially in the north county area in SD. What part of SD are you interested in?

Prefer to live downtown or in pb, would consider places north if they are laid back with curfew past 12 on weekends

I've lived in one before that let me out until 1, but I got kicked out for using. I have to find another sober living because that's the only way my family will help me pay for rent.

That sucks. Maybe just go with a normal halfway house then bounce once you have a steady job and money saved from your family paying rent? I have luckily never had to live in a halfway house but I have heard nothing but bad things from those who have so I don't blame you for looking around for a laid back one. If I had to bet I would say that the more ghetto the area the more chance there is for lax rules. Honestly though most places are going to be overpriced shit holes with dumb rules. That is just kind of how that business is.

Not necessarily. The best sober livings I have seen are in Danta Monica and Newport Beach, two very wealthy areas. The worst have been on Pasadena and North Hollywood, not particularly ghetto places but not nearly as nice or high end.

Because sober livings are so unregulated it is really hit or miss, and the only way to judge them is really by judging who manages and owns them, what the people or organization is like and if you agree with its principles and values.

Anyone have any names of specific sober living houses in San Diego I'm flexible where as long as it's laid back

Keep in mind that you will need to have a pretty strong recovery program, like lots of already established healthy habits and structure in your life, in order to make it work. Why? Because youll be surrounded by drug addicts and plenty fucked up people, many if not most of whom are just put of or still in crisis mode. It is good want to enjoy life and be social, this is very important. But I caution you that a sober living IS NOT the place to find a healthy social life. Go back to school, join a club, volunteer - those are ways to establish a healthy social life. After years of isolating and lots of unhealthy habit energy, it will be hard worl, but if people like me and, for that matter, someone like Noah Levine can do it, anyone can!
