That was a good un' (although I'd be lying if I said it didn't make me want to kick myself for not being more conservative with my intended stash of 1p). I must get some of their albums on the go. They remind me a wee bit of Jumble Lane.

I couldn't really get into that, man. I love everything from Infinite - Marshall Mathers LP but I just don't like his delivery any more. It's lost its melody and he just seems to half-shout everything now :\ The beats aren't like they used to be and it's the same with a lot of hip hop; the beats seem too big or something. My favourite beats have always been from the early 90s East Coast scene %)

RIP to Dave. I'm a recent initiate to Fairport Convention but they get a lot of play from me. This past year has been an excellent year for my musical expansion. FUBAR and yourself have shown me some really great stuff which led me to other great stuff. I had been stagnating for a while on bluegrass with no new music to listen to. It's always great when you find a whole new side of music to get lost in <3

It's crazy to contrast the complex rhyming structures in this track compared to something like Rapper's Delight.

I think that, after The Simpsons, hip hop has provided my second biggest education in American pop culture 8)

I've been giving it a listen and so far, so good. Yet again, it gives me the urge to trip.

There's a channel on youtube from Tony Peacock and he has a really great collection assembled. He used to have the whole of ISB's Wee Tam and The Big Huge on the one video which is my favourite album by them, but it was recently taken down for some reason :\ It's a pain in the hole because it's a great journey from start to finish.

It really was such a golden age of music to me. There was so much quality around that there always seems to be something great I haven't heard that makes its way to my ears. We're so spoiled to have so much free music readily available to us these days :)

Noah and the Whale - Jocasta This sounds great even with NO drugs. Is that an acoustic guitar they are using throughout, obviously it is in the very opening, but with those hard strums just after 00:30 seconds? How do they get that extra kind of hard edged sound from it? Never noticed that before.

I cant make any higher recommendation than that. <3 However it does make me want to take drugs, i have the best of reasons not to today, cos tomorrow is part 2 of Dr 'assessing my mental health'. Not going into the whole story again, but the whole thing is ridiculous, caused by ultra-conservative, highly judgemental, completely intolerant neighbours on both sides (i love them really :| )
