CEPS Well Hung Parliament (CEPS Social/Off Topic)

Remember they arnt for hunting or personal protection.

Although they are far more useful for those purposes. It's the reason I own them. They were to keep order and security before there was a stable police force and military were formed. I'm not saying remove the amendment, but maybe tone it down a notch?

On the other hand, 4 out of 5 surgeons do recommend S&W.

So just bc some idiots got in a altercation we should be good lemmings and give up our constitutional freedom?
i (have) never said that. but you prefer to misconstrue what others believe, droppers, so you've never let facts and such get in the way of your erroneous comments.

Remember they arnt for hunting or personal protection.
apparently, they're for shooting your fellow congregation member for sitting in your seat.

Oh, and speaking of our earlier Trotskyist discussion, bardeaux, i thought you might find this interesting.
It is a "trot guide" of all of the Australian Trot (and Marxist/Leninist) micro-parties in Australia, by one of my favourite anarchist/antifa bloggers (the pseudonymous Andy Fleming):
http://slackbastard.anarchobase.com/?p=39748

You'll note that Socialist Alternative (SAlt) have a strong presence in various actions here too, but their rise has been mainly in the last 10 years or so.
Quite an entertaining read, and a great blog. Neo-nazis have been trying very hard to dox him for at least the last year, and have repeatedly failed (and occasionally beaten for their efforts, by Melbourne's anti-racist crew).

Which is to say, let's all remember which side deploys the most street-level political violence in most of the West (to do violence to geography, including Australia I guess ...)

Over here it is white police officers against indigenous people that cause the most street violence by far.
You could say it isn't political violence - but i wouldn't.

As for the far right vs anifa types, i'd say it is roughly 50-50.
Just that when the facho bash people it usually isn't organised and filmed.

Admittedly I'm not speaking about the police.

But as far as fa vs antifa goes, I don't know what it's like down under, but here, even someone like a Kevin MacDonald, Jared Taylor, let alone a David Irving, needs to go through as many or more hoops as an illegal rave to prevent serious violent disruption of a simple talk at a hotel conference center. Right-wing street violence I think would be met a very much non-correlated response.

The authorities like to prevent civil disruption - for one thing, it causes a lot of extra money needing to be spent in police overtime.

As for the current nationalist vs anti-racist brawling in australia - it is fairly tit-for-tat.
In the past, it hasnt been so much the case - neo-nazis have been on a few pretty serious (racially morivated) arson campaigns since the 80s, and so people disgusted by that got organised to kick back against them.
Our (anti racist) rallies have been much larger than the nationalist grouplets, and only ever get violent when the more militant members (of either side, i will say for balance - though i've never seen antifa kids do it) break police ranks for a bit of ""biffo"

But as for "street level violence" and intimidation, the nationalists use it as their main tactic. A female anti-fascist was bashed by several nationalists in a Melbourne street last year, and "that side" of the debate are the only ones who have been found with weapons (a gun, knives, tasers) at - or in the lead up - to demonstrations.
The majority of the australian antifa effort is put into embarassing the far-right crew by digging into their pasts and criminal records (such as "valour-theft", domestic violence, arson) and publicising these self-styled "leaders" sordid pasts.
So far it has been fairly effective, as most of the main 2-3 groups have splintered beyond recognition.

There are better ways to fight than using fists on the streets, but sometimes if people are protesting outside a middle-eastern food festival, with shirts that say "ban rapefugees" and chanting racist slogans, physical confrontation is inevitable.
I mean, regardless of your politics, how stupid could you be, not to expect some blow-back from something like that?

It's safe to say that the situation is different in our different cultures & locations. But yes, I can agree, street violence at the current level of state control over things is not going to accomplish anything, it is not fin de siècle Russia or Weimar Germany, not quite just yet anyhow ... the violence at Trump rallies is terribly overblown by the media and by histrionic leftists intent on portraying him as a Fascist (which he isn't, he's a right-wing populist at best) ... Europe has always been different (the French are less likely to be shocked at the sight of tanks in the streets than are the British or Americans, for sure), as is Australia although I am far less the expert there ... something like the (more theatric than anything else) American Nazi Party march on Skokie is just that: theatrics, and due to a large police presence, resulted in little violence and even less political gain. Political action on the streets is romanticized by the young, I think, although perhaps at some later date of social collapse it will become necessary, the progression of society to this point I doubt it very much though. The real street action, now, is memetic warfare on the Internet as far as I'm concerned, which would include the digital equivalent of kinetic action, hacking.

Which candidate last encouraged his/her minions to do violence to those who have a different opinion besides Trump?

Downplaying his bullshit doesn't help anything.

What is your official stance on making America great again?

I think we should make America awful.

Seriously, what does this even mean? We want to go back to Keynesian economics, high taxes and a manufacturing based economy? Is that what Trump is saying? I mean, if he wants to go back to deriving half of our budget from corporate tax while making actual step towards progress then sure, I'll hop on board.

If we want to imply that America is not great, but it was before, we have to actually acknowledge what it was like before it was not great.

Awesome :D did your candidate win? Its such a great feeling, I voted and my candidate won the state, I felt like I at least mak the teeeeeenist little difference.

To recap, Clinton won zero primaries in May, The closest she got was a tie in Kentucky.

I really see him keeping his promise to take it to the convention. California takes place next month. I just don't see Hillary pulling off a victory in that state

I'm an absentee/mail voter, so my state's (California) primary won't be for another 2 weeks or something like that.

I voted for Austin Petersen.

Aw shit man, you've the most valuable blue piece (its name escapes me) on the monopoly board to play with don't you.

Cali will be the deciding factor for the dems for sure. If Bernie ends with a popular victory and the party still chooses Hilary I'd probably stay inside ;)

1968 all over again

Fantastic video.
It's a shame that Trump's supporters seem to inhabit some kind of alternate reality where integrity has no value.
