2016 American Presidential Campaign

I think he ran to help his own brand. It was just a publicity stunt like everything else he's ever done. From everything I've read he didn't even expect to still be in the race at this point.

Let's face it, being President is a HUGE commitment that consumes you day and night for 4 straight years . Trump doesn't want that. He's got businesses to run. He's got stupid reality shows to host. The man is and always has been a businessman and a showman. Nothing about his actions over the past 30 years indicate he would really WANT to be President despite him mentioning it here and there.

If his mission was to get publicity, his campaign has probably succeeded even his wildest expectations. He's being talked about in every household in the UNITED States and even all over the world. If he really doesn't want to be President, now would be the time to torpedo his campaign and get out of the race. I think that's what he's doing now.

Donald Trump is now more famous than he's ever been in his life. I think that was his real motivation all along.

I agree with much of what you said and we can hope he doesn't want to Be president...but what would fuel his ego more than being one of the most powerful people in the world?

That sneaky fuck had me totally fooled yesterday. He made a series of tweets that made it sound obvious was going to announce his endorsement for Bernie today. Then I realized today is April Fools lol

If I was in power I'd do like Pinochet and give these motherfuckers a helicopter ride (hint there's rope involved.)

These people are lazy and foolish but they can't claim ignorance. They've seen where promises of a utopia and a movement to implement it always lead.(Cue leftist saying "we are such geniuses. If everyone did exactly what we said the world would be a utopia. If they don't listen we'll line them up against a wall and shoot them." So don't come at me with the right wing fascist literally Hitler shit. Your side does it way more.)

A communist utopia is an impossibility. It defies human nature. We want money and power. If there's no reward for hard work everyone will sink closer to a minimum wage work ethic. The amount of social engineering required for communism to work would be greater than that used in Maoist China or the USSR. They tried ending free speech, encouraging snitching, repression violence etc. Communism still failed. Always has always will. Human nature.

I worry we are living in 1984. When the entire political machine including a propaganda wing disguised as independent are out to stop one man and a large percentage of people don't say "fuck you, I'm doing the opposite of the shit you preach" and instead believe every lie hook line and sinker there's something wrong.

Look, I'm a Trump supporter. I give maybe a 75% chance that he is full of shit. But Clinton Cruz and Kasich are 100% full of shit and Sanders actually believes the shit he preaches.

Look I'm not against a safety net and a level of socialism. But that shit is only possible in a prosperous country. Open borders, a broken immigration system and shitty trade are the most important issues facing the country, on an existential level.
 
Socialism is alright if it's in a limited enough variety where hard work pays off.

I don't completely dislike Sanders tax policy but I would certainly change the numbers.

Sanders is an open borders guy though. This leads to the .1% percent either leaving or living behind walls with private armies still wealthy while the rest of us live like non-party members in Stalinist Russia or Maoist China. There's no way in hell opening the borders to the entire third world while increasing socialism doesn't make most people poorer.

look at all these people surviving socialism. My approach would have been somewhat different.

If you really, truly, honestly want to understand where I'm coming from read about these places and check out the film "The Take" or "La Toma". It used to be on youtube in full, now its in parts with part one missing.
