my levels were 520 ng/dl. i've been on trt for about a month. i'm 17 i'm about 5'9.my dosage is 200mg test cyp once per week. my doctor does not believe in using an AI. do you think i should get on an AI? is it better to split the 200mg once a week into 100mg twice a week to provide more stable blood levels?

Interesting, 125mg test-e pinned 1 X /week is showing 865ng/dl on my blood results..?

What does E2 show, there's no point adding an AI if E2 is within range..!!

Regarding 2 X weekly injections, there is a possibility the lower plasma spike in testosterone may induce less aromatisation... Try it and compare E2 results..

520 for a 17 year old? Am I missing something here because that sounds completely normal and in-range. Probably would have went higher naturally as you got like 3 years older. Either you're not being completely honest or this doctor is of questionable ethics.

do you think i can develop gyno at that kind of a dosage, i know it depends on the person. also what would be some of the long term health risks of being on this dosage for life?

Your Dr should attempt to replicate normal blood testosterone levels, this should produce positive health benefits over the negative effects of low testosterone..
Being prone to gynecomastia seems to be person dependent, you can help yourself by keeping bodyfat within healthy range, as the aromatase enzyme that converts testosterone to estrogen is found largely in adipose (fat) tissue.. (more fat = more estrogen = possibility of gyno)...

I have to ask for HR reasons... Do you have an underlying condition causing you to have such low levels at 17? Maybe XXY syndrome or even just delayed puberty? I had low-levels my whole life until I started cycling, and it wasn't enough to be put on TRT (I think sub-200 but not by much, free test was really low though). If your life was not a disaster before starting on replacement, maybe reconsider and wait a few years. If I had to guess though, you may metabolize testosterone faster than normal (which could result in DHT or E2 build-up) Do you have an age-inappropriate hairline or early signs of gyno?

Be careful with your health and development at that age, man. You may not like having to inject your thigh/ass wherever twice a week for life, especially if it has to be done in a doctor's office...

The point is moot. His numbers aren't even low...

Does the OP even state his numbers? I can't find anything in this thread....

If they truly are not low then this doctor needs to be investigated....

Edit: I mean his levels while not on TRT. The level he states, I believe is what he is at while on the TRT...

Ah well shit, I figure the 520 figure was where he was before starting the treatment.

If the opposite is the case, then I guess nevermind. That's not a high testosterone level but definitely not low enough to affect your lifestyle.
