What's good for low confidence/ public speaking/ anxiety? (not benzos)

I take it you have a script if you're role-playing in the presentation? Is that the part you're not looking forward to most?

No script no. I think that would be worse! I have to think on the spot which I think helps me forget the situation slightly. Still terrifies me though.

A good diet, exercise and generally feeling fit practically irradiates any anxiety for me. I feel it more when I'm not living healthily. Laughing helps too, stressed anxious people tend to be serious people.

This

Or try a pipe full of DMT

As others have said, practice, practice, practice... Just go through the talk to yourself as many times as necessary until you're comfortable with it. I always make sure I have the first minute or two absolutely nailed. Once you're a couple of minutes into your talk the initial nerves will subside and you'll just be in the flow of it.

Also, no matter how nervous you might feel at the time, I doubt anyone else will even notice. There have been times I've been shiting myself giving a talk, but I got nothing but positive comments afterwards.

Forget the drugs, just practice and you'll be fine...

anxiety/paranoia speaking to a group of people high can be a lot worse

tbh it sounds like the best idea might be a beta-blocker like propanolol, it stop the physical manifestations of anxiety, twitching, moving about etc so this can have a feedback loop affect of making you feel less self-conscious in a group presentation. and it doesn't interfere with your thought process.

Er, that would leave me staring at the wall, tugging my cock and repeatedly saying 'wibble' . Possibly not the best way to conduct a presentation...

... but the crowd would love you, perhaps a standing ovation right before you got dragged away by the police.

Yeah I'd echo this (maybe without the talking to yourself part), just dive in and take the plunge and do it, and also advice about fast release propranolol, but really after a bit of practice talking to groups of people it becomes easier and easier and you will begin to develop confidence and be able to look people in the eye while you're talking and might even start to enjoy yourself :)

For sure and just relaxing and thinking the only person you need to worry about what they're thinking is yourself.

Strains of cannabis high in CBD are better than benzos also.

Beta Blockers are used by some classical musicians to calm the nerves before playing

As said previously the more you do something without drugs the more comfortable you will get and this is the best way to go about it. But if you insist on drugs this is what I have done in the past and continually lowered the doses until I really dont need much of anything to do presentations/whatever.

Adderall, propranolol, and low dose of klonopin

I know you said no benzo but this combination leaves me in an interviewing, public speaking, social beastly state of mind. lol. Feel like I can take on the world.

Usually the adderall around 40mg, 40mg of propanolol, and 1 mg of klonopin. Honestly most of my anxiety is relieved once I take adderall by itself. But the beta blocker blocks the physical negatives, shaky voice/hands etc.. and the benzo just calms your mind down just a bit and takes the edge of the adderall stim high if you're susceptible to it.

They're also banned in archery competitions lol.

Like it's been said before it should get better from time to time. That's what i experienced.

I'm also very nervous before and during a presentation but i always get good feedback.
Even though i'm not the most confident person.

You should look into nlp and anchoring.

How are you to effectively practice a talk if you don't talk to yourself? (serious question, I know you regularly teach and I have a talk coming up soon so any tips would be useful :D). I find that reading through a presentation in my head is doesn't really cut it, I need to actually speak the words out loud for it to be of any real use in getting the key parts really honed down and slick...
