Mass sexual assaults on New Year's Eve

Of course not.

Nor are nationalists excused from doing the same to random muslims.

then the random muslims should keep away at arms length

really though, is it that hard to arrest and punish (by the law) the migrants for the crimes they commit? justice for victims. that's what needs to happen. police need to be allowed to do their job without fear of being labelled "racist nazis".

if police are not allowed to do their job, that's when you get vigilante groups, that's when it doesn't matter if 80% of muslims are innocent, in the vigilantes eyes -- all 100% of muslims will be guilty and this is how civil war starts

You joke, but here in the US we have idiots shooting up Sikh temples because they mistake them as mosques.

I agree. As I said earlier, the police officer needs to do his job regardless of what people think. And by "do his job" I don't mean round up every muslim or foreigner, feel free to use excessive force or to unjustly harass a certain demographic. That's not his job, his job is to uphold the law and act as an agent of justice, like you said. If he does this fairly, I don't see any room for accusations of mistreatment or racism holding up.

if police are not allowed to do their job

The police are paid to do their job. If they're doing their job correctly, there will be no controversy. If they refuse to do their job, then they shouldn't have said job.

if anyone didn't get the reference. the mayor told the victims of NYE to "keep away at arms length" even though i wasn't serious with my comment it wasn't meant to be a joke, but more a reference to that.

and it is 100% not up to the police, i thought this would of been obvious. the governtment are their boss and tell them what to do. they are telling them to not act. crazy how when 1000s of Germans were protesting on the streets, and police were able to quickly shut this down with force. sad how they didnt act onthe rapists

it took four days for the media to report these NYE attacks.

the amount of covering up by the media is insane, the propaganda.. it's changing now though. we will get more and more stories in the mainstream media as shit is about to get worse

I'd personally rather not have them here (brutally honest) however we (the west) have blown their homeland to bits. I don't agree with war either and I think basic humanity says we now must let them in because of what we've done to their homeland. However that's creating a whole host of other problems. All because of warmongering leaders with their own underlying agendas...

Agree.

Ideally, we could send them to America, Britain and any other mob involved in creating the mess but I can't see that happening.

When traveling through a country one must uphold the rule of law that the country has in place or suffer their consequences. I feel it should be no different for migrants and refugees. If these men commit rape or other sexual assaults they should be arrested and prosecuted until they understand that this is not how men treat women in that culture.

The whole provocative dress thing that the muslim from quebec was talking about is so stupid. Why is he trying to blame the victim when in reality it should be that men can control themselves.

I hate to say this, but it is going to take the people, not just the police to stand up for their way of life. If you see a crime being committed against a woman you stop that crime from happening. This is a very different ideal than creating vigilante groups and then rounding up muslims and "punishing them" for the acts of a minority of said muslims.

I believe the united states and britain should be taking a broader role in helping these refugees. Once again the richest people, and most profitable corporations have grabbed as much money as they can through conflict (which is extremely profitable for some companies) and left devastation in their path. It isn't the average workaday person, or those in the armed forces that caused this to happen...however, I see these people shouldering the burden of problems created by these companies while they sit and count their money. Fortunately, in the united states we haven't taken the guns away from the citizens so if need be we can protect ourselves when these migrants come to our shores.

I welcome the refugee, I welcome the migrant. I do not welcome sharia law and inequality aimed at women. My country has been founded on immigration and that ethos has gotten warped by some politicians, but I still believe that we should welcome those trying to escape a terrible situation, however those that are entering our borders should be well aware that we allow religious freedom as long as it is not imposed on others.

Following some of the logic in this thread, it boils down to the immigrants cons outweigh the pros.

The cons are the minority that rape and commit other violent, anti-social acts, including, rarely, terrorism.

Of course, the same logic appears to apply to native Europeans and Americans of European descent. After all, those two groups also have a minority that rape and commit other violent, anti-social acts, including, rarely, terrorism.

Cologne: Three out of 58 men arrested over mass sex attack on New Year's Eve were refugees from Syria or Iraq

Majority of suspects are of Algerian, Tunisian or Moroccan descent and none had recently arrived in Germany, police have reportedly said.

Three of the 58 suspects arrested in connection with the mass sex attack on women in Cologne on New Year’s Eve were refugees from Iraq or Syria.

Refugees have been widely targetted following more than 1,000 reports of theft, sex assault and rape of women at Cologne’s central train station - leading to a hardening of attitudes towards Chancellor Angela Merkel’s open door policy.

On Sunday, it emerged that of those arrested only two had recently arrived from Syria and one from Iraq.

It doesn't surprise me to learn that the perpetrators came from African states. As a continent it has a rather brutal history of colonialism and warlords which has developed in to a widespread distrust of the Europeans to the North. Education on the whole is relatively poor and, particularly when it comes to sexual education, native hardline Christian preachers carry more influence than European teachings. This is a large part of the reason that the international community has struggled with helping Africa with problems of over, or unsustainable, population or AIDS. I personally feel that more of the aid that is earmarked to help the African people should be put in to improving the education infrastructure.

it was obvi migrant attackers all along, nothing is in a different light in this thread. what?

most ""refugees"" (really migrants)are male Muslims from Africa and not Syria anyway

There was an assumption that these attacks were by newly arrived refugees. That's been shown as a false assumption.

A simple "I was wrong" would suffice.

That is actually great to hear. Sexual assaults all over Europe seem to be perpetrated by North African Muslims for the most part from what I have been reading. (Of the assaults perpetrated by migrants and refugee's) this is not to say that rape and sexual assault aren't being perpetrated by people from other parts of the world or even the citizens of these countries. There is something to be said about cultural differences and societal norms and the occurances of this sort of thing seem to be happening much more often or is it just the way it is being reported.

There is such a distortion by the left and right, I would love to see some objective numbers and reporting that doesn't lean either way on the migrant and refugee situation. I want a clear picture of what had happened and what is currently happening but I have to worry about some things being overblown and others being minimized and suppressed.

Unfortunately "clear pictures" are few and far between in the current media and political climate.

QFT. We have some serious spin doctors using peoples misery as hard currency in furthering their political ambitions.

It is true about Africa as well. Even with intense amounts of aid, widespread corruption and radicalism makes it so very little of the food, medical supplies, and money that western nations are sending actually filter down to the people that need it. Instability in government, and military coupes have made living for the vast majority of Africans (especially western like congo, liberia, and sierra leone) extremely dangerous. This truly is one place that I would hate to visit.
