I got a nice surprise tonight when I went into my local paper shop and the old woman gave me an Xmas card and a bottle of Bulmers 'zesty blood orange' cider. I don't drink as a rule but this is going down great..... Tastes like pop :)

I fuckin hate Xmas. Last week we found out some cunt had been hammering the wife's cashcard in betting shops, now I've got in from work and our pet cat Jess has been killed by two fucktards in a car. The kids are in tears (as am I), the Mrs is blaming herself because she let her out and I just want to hit some fucker really hard. Roll on next year... :(

Shit, man, I'm really sorry to hears that.

Until we got our current cat, I've never had such a bond with an animal. He's just a real special cat! I would be devastated if his life was cut short.

Hopefully you the kids will feel much calmer once you get a good bit of grieving done. It just never feels the same getting a new cat but you can grow to love them, too <3

I don't know, but Xmas always makes me depressed. Apart from the whole thing being a capitalist's wet fuckin dream, it just seems to highlight all the sadness in the world for me. At my last job today, the receptionist - a lovely woman - was sporting a massive black eye. She was so self conscious about it I really felt for her, but it looks like she's been knocked about by some bloke - obviously I don't know for sure, but the signs were there. The whole festival of gluttony and greed just leaves me cold.

Christmas sucks now that I'm no longer a kid. Think Crimbo will be a happier occasion once I'm nested.

Yep, and 3 grams of very very nice high sativa strain bud, denser than it looks in the photo. Not smoked weed in years except a bong in october at a friends house. Should be a very chilled xmas for me.

@F.U.B.A.R - what a shame mate, for you and the kids, poor kitty. Maybe you should get a kitten for your famz for christmas. <3 thinking of getting one myself. Life can throw all sorts of curveballs at you, often at the worst of times, but fear not, things will turn around soon and I hope you and the famz have a peaceful festive season. Take care dude.
 
I hate Xmas too mate. I've got no family here so it's pretty much me on my own. I've never had a Xmas present or indeed anyone to give a present too for years... No Xmas dinner, and decorations anything.....

Don't get me wrong I'm not looking for sympathy. I'm big and ugly enough to cope but the whole Xmas thing just passes me by. That's why I don't mind working over Xmas. Takes my mind off it a bit.

yeah im not fully into xmas, will be visiting the family on xmas day and boxing day, just 7 of us, willbe quiet and relaxing.

its also my birthday at new years, another day I hate. But this time I'm trying to stay posittive and focus on the good things i've achieved this year and the help ive given people and the fact i now have my own place set up nice after 6 months of renovation and settling in.

feels so fucking good to switch off and finally call it holiday time.

I'll be here on EADD most of the time so always up for a bit of banter englandgz74, anytime mate.

Your job must REALLY highlight the sadness some people feel over Xmas mate. I think I'd spend all my time crying my eyes out...
 
^^^ sometimes mate but it's not all bad. We have a laugh sometimes (although often it's me being laughed at cos I'm pretty careless :))

You can get used to it. If you got too emotional over every tragic case you wouldn't last 5 minutes (that's not to say I don't feel sad for people though). That's part of the reasons why I don't think the new idea of recruiting graduate paramedics straight from uni will work. At 22 years old they just won't be able to hack the stress. I'd give them six months tops. Once they realise how dire and cruel the real world is and how it's nowt like they've seen on casualty, they'll leave and get a proper job instead :)
 
I'm so sorry to hear about Jess F.U.B.A.R. that's complete shit for you and the family. Sounds like you've been all having a hard time of it, between the bank card and whatnot. Least you have each other and the kids will make xmas a little special. Even when they're that bit older, they're the best bit about this holiday.

Thanks Koneko! Yeh, if it wasn't for the kids I think we'd have cancelled Xmas years ago. Now we've got to fuckin put up with it for the rest of our bleeding lives.... ;)
